Motion to change the type images back into words. Two reasons: one, it can't be searched or sorted properly, two, it doesn't add anything, and if anything is worse - images don't scale, so that's bad for people who need large fonts to read comfortably, these images aren't particularly high contrast, and, screen readers (i.e. programs that read what's on screen) can't read images. - 振霖T 17:53, 3 March 2007 (UTC)

True. It wouldn't be too hard to change them back, it's just a simple find/replace of all instances of [[Image: and IC.gif]], then changing them to be {{t| and }}, respectively. Perhaps we could instead use the type icons in the evolution infoboxes? --TTEchidna 10:23, 4 March 2007 (UTC)
So we're doing it? 'Cause I can use Word to do that in five seconds flat, preview it, then fix any bugs. Gligar 21:14, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
DO NOT USE WORD.
Word F's up the apostrophes to bolden and italicize. Use Notepad. Anyway, we're not quite ready to do this yet. TTEchidna 22:33, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Notepad it is next time. So was Sinnoh Dex's page always like it is now, or did someone change it? If so, how did they do it? Manually? Gligar 20:12, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
Oh yes, and what about Hoenn, Johto, Fiore, and Almia? Gligar 20:12, 23 September 2008 (UTC)
I changed the Sdex when Pt's extension came about. That's what should be done here. TTEchidna 20:27, 23 September 2008 (UTC)

The mini-sprites.

Up to 400, we seem to have all of them as .gifs. But then, from 401 on, we have .png or none at all. What're we going to do about them? Convert them all to gif or png? --TTEchidna 04:54, 23 March 2007 (UTC)

Well, Pie took care of that up to 400, then she got bored and left them there. I tried doing the rest but she used a weird way of centering them that I couldn't understand and thus abandoned it. I also tried to upload a 32x32 format that I found but that was way too big. Also, PNG takes much more space than GIF and is more managable, so unless Pie helps do the gifs fro scratch, someone is going to have to errase and convert the last 93 (or 95 for two versions of Minomadam) PKMN. Gambler 21:05, 4 April 2007 (UTC)
ive downloaded all 93 of the .png's, and my copy of photoshop is running a batch command to convert them all to gif. i'll then upload them. OrigamiGuy-Talk-Contribs-Mudkipz 14:49, 19 May 2008 (UTC)
So done that yet? Because now I have a way around it. TTEchidna 18:37, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Giratina

Giratina looks a bit excluded with Burmy, Wormadam, Shellos, Gastrodon, Deoxys, and Shaymin getting seperate mini-sprites. Is there an Origin Forme mini-sprite, because I'm confused at where anyone got the Shaymin Sky Forme mini-sprite. 207MS.png Gligar 472MS.png 15:28, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

We have very talented screenshot rippers. Anyway, the official ones... are finally here. All in png. TTEchidna 04:46, 11 September 2008 (UTC)

Question

Do Arceus' forms have separate mini-sprites? If so, they should be here. If not, please tell me so I don't think everyone's ignoring my question... Flicky1991 17:49, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Arceus's seperate forms do not have seperate mini-sprites. The same thing falls for Castform, Cherrim, and Spinda. Gligar I am not removing this lengthy addition to my signature until all moves have been updated to Platinum standard. 19:44, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Unown form Mini-Sprites

Why not? I mean, is there another reason besides it takes up too much space? Gligar I am not removing this lengthy addition to my signature until all moves have been updated to Platinum standard. 19:44, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Well... yeah. Way too much space. Don't worry, each of them gets used on the Unown page... you just have to wait 28 seconds for it to repeat. If you clear the cache on the page... TTEchidna 19:53, 26 September 2008 (UTC)

Type

Couldn't they be categorized by their types here? I mean its categorized by things like gender ratios and weight, but not types? I think it would be a little more helpful than things like weight and height...o_O Zolt991 02:00, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

  • If you want to search a Pokémon by type, you should go to the type page (i.e. Fire), then scroll down the list. Hoolo 14:55, 14 August 2009 (UTC)

Missing No.

Any reason not to include this as entry zero?Iliekmudkips 22:37, 5 February 2009 (UTC)

Probably because it's not an actual Pokemon. Dexington 22:53, 5 February 2009 (UTC)
Definitely because it's not an actual Pokémon. TTEchidna 03:00, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Yep, it was simply a glitch from the Generation I games and since it is not a real Pokémon it should be removed from the Pokédex list immediately which I did today without hesitation. -Tyler53841 04:11, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

Splitting off Kanto

Since Johto has its own page... two of them, really... ought not the Kdex have its own page? No one wants to load up this whole monster when trying to find something they need in FRLG or RGBY... TTEchidna 22:52, 11 September 2009 (UTC)"

I agree since I have been putting some thought into as well and that while this is the official number system it would be beautiful to have a separate page for the Kanto entries as a sign of respect and it could have a something saying of how it stood as the basis for future generations as well. -Tyler53841 22:56, 11 September 2009 (UTC)
I've been wanting to suggest this for a while but didn't think anyone would agree. FireRed and LeafGreen specifically separate the Kanto and National Pokedices; even if they have the same first entries, they're separate. - MK (t/c) 00:08, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
And perhaps also an "Old Pokedex" page with the first 251 entries. - MK (t/c) 22:13, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
Also I volunteer to do this if we decide to... In the rare times I am not sick and can contribute here I like doing whatever I can to feel like I'm making a difference :P - MK (t/c) 13:07, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Anyone? ._. - MK (t/c) 02:51, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
Yes on Kdex. The first 251 are in Newdex. An ordered version could fly, though. The Olddex from GSC had the Johtos directly after the Kantos? —darklordtrom 04:46, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
Yup Old Pokédex mode is Johto right after Kanto in National Pokédex order :D ZestyCactus 04:52, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
This has... ummm... been done :D.--ForceFire 08:50, 23 October 2009 (UTC)

Question

Is this supposed to contain all pokemon? F1restar 05:49, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

Yes, why?--ForceFire 05:51, 12 January 2010 (UTC)
Uhh never mind, my mistake. Sorry it was my browser's find function... then I looked harder and the pokemon was there even though find didn't find it.F1restar 06:22, 12 January 2010 (UTC)

generations

Shouldn't the list be divided by generations? - unsigned comment from Pkmn master (talkcontribs)

This should have been asked BEFORE doing it. (And in my opinion, no, that's unnecessary.)
Also, please sign comments with four tildes (~~~~), thanks. 梅子 17:57, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

Starters

Can someone fix the .PNG files for the new starters? Or at least put a question mark image up for them, like for Zoura and Zoark? «ιɴмɴιαc» 13:24, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Never mind, Sketch took care of it. Sorry. «ιɴмɴιαc» 13:26, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Number of starters

According to the other generations, the grass starter gets the first number in the pokedex, the fire starter, the fourth, and the water one, the seventh. We should put #494, #497 and #500 respectively, yeah, their names aren't a sure thing, but I can tell that numbers are. --Masatoshi 16:45, 12 May 2010 (UTC)
