Since a shiny Jigglypuff has green eyes, and a green-eyed Jigglypuff appeared in the anime, doesn't it mean that it was shiny? --File:Spr 3e 115.gifTheryguy512File:Spr 3e 202.gifFile:Spr 3e 327.gif 21:02, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

We should call the green-eyed Jigglypuff in the anime shiny instead of green-eyed because shiny Jigglypuffs have green eyes. Dolphins_are_awesome! 02:09, 13 November 2008 (UTC)
I really don't know. After all, it appeared in Kanto, and back then, we didn't even know of shinies. Remember the Pink Butterfree? TTEchidna 22:53, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
Here's a thought. Why not put the green eyed Jigglypuff trivia fact in the episode article itself? I mean, even Marina's Little Pink had green eyes similar to the Jigglypuff in Rough, Tough Jigglypuff. Putting that fact in the Jigglypuff Pokémon article isn't exactly fitting there. Mudkipchan 17:28, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
We should add the fact that Jigglypuff was in EP072, and had the same exact attitude as the anime Jigglypuff ht14 21:59, 18 March 1008 (GMT)

I think that it's name could be derived from the English word "purring" referring to it singing abilities.

But in Japanese Pūrin means "pudding" reffering to its gelatinous form

backwards sprite

Should it be noted that its Red/Blue sprite is facing the wrong way, AWAY from the opponent? Or was that a mistake Bulbapedia made? Bttsstewart 04:28, 29 December 2008 (UTC) Someone fixed it. Nvr mind. Bttsstewart 09:26, 4 June 2009 (UTC)

Super Smash Bros.

The paragraph under Other appearances and for Super Smash Bros. seems to be almost totally unrelated to Super Smash Bros. Perhaps there is a link I am unaware of. Even so, the paragraph has a few grammatical errors and could have been written better alltogether all throughout. Is anyone aware of what the author was trying to say? Also, if this paragraph does indeed have links to Super Smash Bros. melee as the title say, could anyone rewrite this in such a way as to indicate this link exists? Purdyaw

Inflation =/= Levitate

I don't really think that trivia about Jigglypuff not being able to levitate should be there. It's fairly obvious Jigglypuff can inflate itself giving it a small amount of lift, but it cannot levitate as it cannot stay up forever. Unlike Pokémon like Koffing or its evolution which use a gas to stay afloat Jigglypuff is not filled with a gas that lifts it off the ground, instead its air is used to keep it from running out of breath while singing. It's more like a balloon filled with oxygen rather than helium. Remember, just because a chicken is a bird and has wings doesn't mean it can fly. :D But if you wanna argue about it, do it here. Stop the editing war. (P.S. If you want to argue about Pokémon Snap, remember that Weepinbell and Victreebel also floated, Magneton weren't stuck together, you used pester balls to evolve a Grimer, and Koffing had a hold on Jigglypuff without any arms.) In all honesty, I don't think any such argument need ever be started after you so thoroughly shut down the notion; it is blatantly obvious that Jigglypuff is not a Pokémon given to the ability to keep off the ground, and so noting that it cannot do this seems utterly silly. (Also, sorry about the editing war; I just figured reverting and providing a comment would be the easiest way for me to talk to Vuvuzela about it.) —hexagonTHEORY 03:54, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
If you think it should not be there then feel free to take it down, I still think it is relevant, Jigglypuff not being able stay in the air forever doesnt seem like a good reason to take it down though, Vibrava can barely fly yet it has the Levitate aility, and I also do not see what you mean by "stop the editing war",there was never an edit war going on, the edit was only reverted the one time.Vuvuzela2010 04:06, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Twice actually but anyway, Vibrava can fly just fine, not sure what you're referring to. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 04:09, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Vibrabva's Sapphire & Emerald Pokedex entries both say they are crap at flying (not in those exact words of course) but it still has the ability. Jigglypuff is seen to be able to float for a long time in Snap, presumably longer than Vibrava. Also, it would not be obvious to many newer fans that Jigglypuff is capable of floating in the air, which would be a good reason to keep it on the page.Vuvuzela2010 04:24, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Regardless of how well Vibrava can fly, it can fly; the title of this section is the perfect counter to your argument. Despite Jigglypuff's ability to remain in the air for any given time, it is quite clearly doing so via inflation and not levitation; as such, it should have nothing to do with the Levitate ability. —hexagonTHEORY 04:32, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
It says it can fly short distances, doesn't say it can't fly. I've already ruled out that Pokémon Snap has got a lot of questionable content so using that as your definitive proof isn't entirely constructive. It's the only form of media to ever show Jigglypuff hovering. Every other source has no information of Jigglypuff capable of such feats. Even in Smash Brothers it falls after a very short period of time, and in side games like the Ranger series it never says anything in the browser nor do they fly in-game. *cough* Snap isn't the only media to show Jigglypuff hovering. Werdnae (talk) 04:42, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Vibrava is not levitating either, it is flapping its wings to fly, so the same argument could be used for Jiggly, as Jigglypuff keeps itself airborne by sucking in lots of air, rather than levitating.Vuvuzela2010 04:46, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

You do recall that you're the one who initially mentioned Vibrava, right? Either way, your own words: "rather than levitating"; have you genuinely not yet concluded that Jigglypuff isn't a suitable candidate for the Levitate ability? «hexagonTHEORY» 04:50, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
That's kind of a silly statement. Air isn't less dense than air. :P Just cause it fills itself with air doesn't mean it'll fly. And ah, I only just got into the manga so I must have forgotten. But the manga also has some content not consistent with the game's data, and while Green's Jigglypuff/Wigglytuff may be able to fly, it's not stated in game that normal Jigglypuff can (sorta like how her ditto made her look like Sabrina when Ditto can't really transform into people). Now if it actually said in the Dex "It can float short distances" then it might be noteworthy. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 04:52, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Alas, the trouble of one fandom being split into twenty-odd canons. «hexagonTHEORY» 04:56, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
