Ash being "physically absent"
The article mentions this being the first clip show with Ash and Pikachu physically absent (that is, not counting flashbacks), but that seems off considering previous clip shows consisted of nothing but footage from previous episodes in the first place. So in that sense those clip shows may as well be considered as not having Ash and Pikachu physically apear either.
