戦く--Name Origin

戦く, ononoku, means "to shake, to shudder". Its noun form, 戦き ononoki, means "shudder, shiver, agitation". I'm betting on this being at least a possible name origin.--PhantomJunkie 17:44, 3 August 2010 (UTC)

Personally I doubt whether the ononoku part had anything to do with the naming of this pokémon as ono and akkusu alone seem enough. Origin

(Probably very obscure/impossible to confirm) origin of BOTH the English name and the Pokémon itself. Just take a look at this. Pay attention to the date this particular image was posted. Well, like I said, probably there's no way to confirm it. Although the odds are like 1 in 2, because of all the similarities. A biped dino, with axes on its head. And the name. Consider the poster's username, though, "theonegamefreak". <batshitinsanespeculation>Maybe he is a Game Freak employee, who had this weird idea and posted it on DA a year before the game got released, and someone in the Pokémon design team thought they'd use this for an idea. Could work out, since the game was in dev back then.</batshitinsanespeculation> No, seriously. We could at least mention it in the trivia. Or the whole big "H4x0r" and "1337 speak" deal. There was a shout out to Leet in M&L: Partners in Time. Why not here?

Should it be noted in the origin or trivia section that Haxorus looks similar to the arbiter Thel 'Vadam from Halo? At least it's neck and body structure is similar. Peanut64
