Disambig

I have a really strong feeling that most people will be looking for the in-game item when looking for "Gracidea", not the movie place. I vote for a disambig! --Maxim 09:21, 31 January 2009 (UTC)

Page renaming

They call it "Gracidea Garden" in the movie, not just "Gracidea" since it's the name of the flower (Brock calls it "Flower Garden"). The page should be renamed. Jeangabin666 (talk) 06:34, 27 December 2016 (UTC)

Is that necessary?

It says in the article that by using an Action Replay to get Oak's Letter and bringing Cherish Balls, if one catches Shaymin, you can recieve a Gracidea in Platinum. Is that really necessary to mention in the article? In my opinion, it should be mentioned in Gracidea (flower), not Gracidea. Pawsrent 02:48, 18 July 2010 (UTC)

What's the source for Gracidea being a region. In the film, they talk about the "Gracidea Garden" or "Flower Garden". And in the Arceus film, they talk about "what happened near the Glacier". Per the definition of "region" in the Pokémon world, Gracidea is never called a region. It is, however, a location in the Sinnoh region, and I believe it is not made clear whether Gracidea is the name of the garden, or if it is called that because it is a garden where Gracidea flowers grow. My point is that there's not place called "Gracidea" at all in the film or any Pokémon Media: see http://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-episodes/pokemon-movies/pokemon-giratina-the-sky-warrior-2009 They talk about the Gracidea Garden, Flower Garden, Gracidea Flower Garden, Glacier, but no "Gracidea" place at all. "Gracidea Flower Garden", however, could be construed to mean "the flower garden named Gracidea", "the garden where Gracidea flowers grow", "the place named Gracidea Flower Garden", or who knows what other interpretations. There's no evidence that I am aware of that the location is not called Gracidea--but no evidence that it is, either.

About their origin in event distribution: the film's Regigigas' OT was Ten'i Village (テンイむら) in Japanese version and Toy'sRUs in English, while Shaymin's OT is either the film (English and Japanese) or ToysRUs (English). Check here. Regigigas' village was given a name, while there's still no "Gracidea" place confirmed for Shaymin's origin. Which would imply Gracidea has always been the flower's name and nothing more.

Nothing in official Pokémon media confirm a specific place named "Gracidea", nor any reference to any "Gracidea" place is made. Now, if a "Gracidea" location page has to be kept on this wiki, the page should at least be renamed "Gracidea Garden" or "Gracidea Flower Garden" in order to be accurate. I'll leave this note here so it can easily be found when it may be needed: the Pokemon.com page for M11 says "Gracidea garden".
