:Yes as I understand it the same applies for other Generations as well as is shown below:
::Generation I ended when Pokemon Gold/Silver were released thus starting Generation II
::Generation II ended when Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire were released thus starting Generation III
::Generation III ended when Pokemon Diamond/Pearl were released thus starting Generation IV
::Generation IV will end when Pokemon Black/White are released thus starting Generation V
Therefore one generation ends when a another set of paired games are released, Remakes don't count. Pday2387 10:23, 17 July 2010 (UTC)
Prototype Pokemon Names
I was digging around my old website to find some nifty tidbits to add to Bulbapedia, and I found this page: G/S Prototype Names I didn't make any of this up, a lot of it actually came from Bulbagarden and PokeFor back in the day. Some of the interesting names:
* Xatu & Xoqo for Natu & Xatu, respectively
* Trillix for Misdreavus or Sneasel (the name "Misdreavus" is on the list, but given to Sneasel, while Misdreavus is named "Trillix"... Another piece of evidence for "Trillix"
* Duglari for Dunsparce
I wonder if some of this can appear SOMEWHERE, obviously most likely on each Pokemon's page... Whaddya think? - Nick15 06:15, 12 May 2010 (UTC)

Incorrect Trivia?
I was reading this article when I came across this:
"Generation II is the only generation where:
Each Pokémon has a different sprite in each game (except for Unown and a few others)."
This doesn't sound right to me. Gen I had different sprites for all of their Pokemon, so Gen II isn't the only gen to do this. In addition, Pokemon Crystal didn't make new sprites for the Pokemon - they picked a sprite from G/S and animated it. So I think this part should be removed. Coronation 01:14, 13 June 2011 (UTC)
:There's also "Generation II is the only generation where the National Pokédex cannot be completed without another generation[...]," which doesn't make sense to me. I'm pretty sure you can't obtain Dialga and Palkia, Mewtwo, Deoxys, Ho-Oh and Lugia, and the Legendary Dogs (among others) in Black/White without obtaining them from a previous generation. Please correct me if I'm wrong. // <span style="color:#00A550">Szayel</span><span style="color:#C0C0C0">Aporro</span><span style="color:#FF69B4">Granz</span> 03:59, 3 July 2011 (UTC)

Should we list out the Pokémon in this category that were introduced in the other generations?
*Generation I introduced Meowth/Persian
*Generation III introduced Skitty/Delcatty
*Generation IV introduced Glameow/Purugly
*Generation V introduced Purrloin/Liepard
It just seems appropriate, especially as readers who aren't aware of this fact might want to know what the other evolutionary lines are. Also, Generation I also points out the fact that a damaging move varying in type was not introduced and lists those that were in later generations, so it'd also improve consistency. == Pure Starter Error ==
In the first paragraph of the Thematic motifs it states that every generation except VI has had one starter with a pure type final evolution. This is true, however generation IV also failed to introduce a final form starter that retains its single typing. Both Torterra, Infernape, and Empoleon are dual type Pokemon. Gen IV should be added to this sentence.

"The player must navigate Johto and Kanto, beating the new Elite Four, sixteen Gym Leaders and the original Pokémon Champion Red. This is after defeating the newly revitalized Team Rocket, searching for the fallen Giovanni. The second generation expanded upon trading through use of held items, evolution through the addition of friendship, and breeding to attain pre-evolution or baby Pokémon." "Johto is physically connected to Kanto and these games added depth to both regions."
How is this relevant to the recurring theme of the region though? Flygonfanno1 (talk) 15:53, 22 August 2016 (UTC)
