:It comes from the inner-game data. Remember, Pokémon with 50/50 gender ratios are like flipping coins, the previous flip doesn't affect the next flip. Pokémon with 25/75 gender ratios is like rolling 4-sided dice, the previous roll doesn't affect the next roll. So, regardless of the ratio (unless it's genderless, or single gender species), it's 100% possible to get a large streak of either gender.  - [[User:Kogoro|<span style="color:#DA70D6;">'''Kogoro'''</span>]] '''|''' [[User talk:Kogoro|<span style="color:#FFB6C1;">'''Talk to me'''</span>]] - 17:34, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

::I know how independent probability works. It's just the chance of finding a streak of nine Feebas with only one male is incredibly unlikely. ...Though, actually, any random string of nine with X Boys and X Girls is equally unlikely...

> Does anyone know what fish Feebas is supposed to be, anyways? I always assumed due to it's coloring and general ugliness, not to mention certain aspects of design, that it was a flounder - albiet one with eyes on two different sides.

Anyone have a better comparison or idea?

I have an overriding desire to use that pic somewhere else, eventually.

I always figured it was a bass. -Ket

Yeah, it does kinda look like a bass to me. --BJG

Maxing out its beauty? Mine isn't maxed out and it evolved just fine.

What rod is needed to catch Feebas? - Mechawyvern

I'm pretty sure it doesn't require max beauty, just a beauty of 200. --Ozzie 07:48, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

What's maximum, for comparison, anyway? TTEchidna 08:00, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
I couldn't say for sure, but my guess is 255, making 200 not maxed out, but fairly close to it.

Maximize Beauty?

I just traded for a Feebas in my FireRed game. How do I max beauty? Or do I have to trade it away, have it evolve, then trade it back? Harvestdancer 03:36, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Pokeblocks are not obtainable in FR/LG - thus, no evolving Feebas. Tina281 03:40, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

Yep. Feebas and Eevee can't evolve by level in FRLG. TTEchidna 04:56, 25 October 2007 (UTC)

I can't find a Feebas. I know that it changes with the cool saying at Dewford, but I can't find it on route 119. I've gone up that waterfall and used both my Super and Good Rod, but anywhere I try, It's just not there. Is it very rare. The article said something about 6 lakes, but there's only 3 on route 119 and that's where it's supposed to be. (I've also looked on route 118 and I can't find it. What am I doing wrong???!!!! Not six lakes; it's in six of the hundreds of fishing spots on the river. You're going to have to check every square of water on Route 119, probably more than once. --FabuVinny T-C-S 18:29, 28 January 2008 (UTC)
Here's how I did it: Surf and Waterfall with me, I go to Route 119. I get into the water. Fish, fish, fish, move one square. Fish, fish, fish, move one square. Repeat until you get it. TTEchidnaFire echyGSDS! 23:36, 28 January 2008 (UTC)

Maxing

what is the best way to max beauty (with beneficial natures) in gen 3 and 4?? (e.g which pokeblocks/poffins work best) should it be noted in the article?? Dion24 12:05, 28 September 2008 (UTC)

I managed to evolve mine with 170 beauty. 10 level 17 dry poffins, made from wiki berries. I didn't have a beneficial nature either, the nature was Bold. - Valorn 10:10, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

About its Sp.A./HP...

Um. Well, who CARES if its HP is the same as Shuckle. The real thing that should be noted are its stats being essentially Special/Physical inverted versions of Magikarp's. TTEchidna 08:07, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

I don't know. Who cares that Bulbasaur is the first grass-type in National-dex order? It's trivia. We note these little things. We were stating that it has the lowest Sp Attack tied with Shuckle WHO ALSO happens to share the same base HP. An extra sentence isn't going to kill anyone... --ケンジガール 18:15, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Rarity

It says that they are common in DP/Pt and RSE. But because they're so hard to find and take so long i think that should be changed Flyingemus 20:44, 27 April 2009 (UTC)

Ah, but once you find them they are like moths to a flame! If you're on the right square, you could get one every time. — THE TROM — 21:17, 27 April 2009 (UTC)
True, but they still suck to find Flyingemus 00:42, 28 April 2009 (UTC)
It is "common" as far as in-game percentages go. Only on four squares though. The table does make note of that though.--MisterE13 01:04, 28 April 2009 (UTC)

Gender Ratio

I have caught nine Feebas. One was male. Does the ratio come from the game data itself, or from spading?--Gou 17:26, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

It comes from the inner-game data. - Kogoro | Talk to me - 17:34, 1 June 2009 (UTC)
I know how independent probability works. It's just the chance of finding a streak of nine Feebas with only one male is incredibly unlikely. ...Though, actually, any random string of nine with X Boys and X Girls is equally unlikely...
