Origin

Please tell me I'm not the only one who sees the resemblance to The Ugly Duckling. The name is the exact definition of "duckling" and it evolves into a swan. --EpicShadow 00:51, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

I originally wrote that in the origin myself. Why it was removed I'm not quite sure; maybe we need a bit more information to confirm this, though. Yurtablemoron 01:20, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
The edit summary of the person who removed it was "if it were the ugly duckling, it would at least mention something about ducks in Dex entries. One of the first parts in the story is rolling into a duck's nest." I agree with this and think that it should not be added. --SnorlaxMonster 12:35, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Also keep in mind that The Ugly Duckling is based on what actual swanlings look like (they look more like sooty grey ducklings than majestic adult swans). So it could be based on the story, but it's equally likely that it's just based on a typical baby swan. --AndyPKMN 12:45, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
Well I did put my reason in my edit summary. Not every baby goose is based on that story. Popular culture does make its influences, but you've got to know Pokémon origins usually actually put something to show the origin. It's Turtwig A! My talk or wiki edits 13:12, 9 October 2010 (UTC)
