Gender Trades

"In Blackthorn City, a woman is willing to trade her Rhydon for a female Dragonair. This makes Dragonair the only Pokémon to be required to be a certain gender for an in-game trade." This isn't really true, considering in the Generation I games, you could be asked for a Nidoran female or male, depending on the game. Should we add that in or remove this trivia? CherryParanoia 00:38, 22 August 2009 (UTC)

The Nido families are two separate evolutionary lines. --ルレ 00:43, 22 August 2009 (UTC)
I know that. Doesn't stop them from having to be a certain gender for a trade. CherryParanoia 20:53, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
But only because they're single-gender! --ルレ 23:28, 24 August 2009 (UTC)
But it still makes the trivia inaccurate. "required to be a certain gender for an in-game trade." Nidorans are required to be certain genders for in-game trades. Maybe not in the same way as Dragonair, but it still makes the Trivia inaccurate. CherryParanoia 16:53, 26 August 2009 (UTC)
And of course I suppose you'd also include the Chansey-Aerodactyl trade in G2? --ルレ 17:34, 26 August 2009 (UTC)

"In Blackthorn City, a woman is willing to trade her Rhydon (G/S) or Dodrio (C/HG/SS) for a female Dragonair. This makes Dragonair the only Pokémon that is able to be more than one gender that is required to be a specific gender to be traded."

Now this statement makes absolutely no sense. Could someone fix it, please? I don't know what it's trying to say, otherwise I would. Eversist 01:46, 26 April 2010 (UTC)
New comments go to the bottom of the page. I'll have a go rewording the offending sentence. —darklordtrom 22:15, 26 April 2010 (UTC)

Name Origin

Can I remove the part that says 'It may also be a play on debonair'. It seems really unecessary as there would be no reason for it to be a play on debonair.--[[User:Gallevoir]] 20:55, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

I would argue that such a graceful and mysterious Pokémon has EVERY reason to be a play on debonair. See [1]. --AndyPKMN 22:16, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Safari Zone?

Everyone knows that in Yellow, Dragonair can be fished in the Safari Zone. However, while in the Japanese version, it's enough to throw one rock at it to have a chance at catching it, but you need at least two in the English version (I haven't tried it though, because it wlways ran away before 3 turns have passed). I guess it isn't trivia-worthy enough, but if someone REALLY loves Dragonair, maybe he or she will check this page as well, so... There you have it, some really trivial trivia. :D Krisi 12:17, 29 June 2011 (UTC)

Confirmation on the origin?

I was looking through old Ken Sugimori artwork, and I noticed dragonair had an aura that looks like a traditional asian dragon. I just thought I'd mention it because you might be able to site it as a source or mention it in the origin section. I'm a noob so I'm not used to adding stuff.

No. That's just Dragonair using...whatever the heck it is using.--ForceFire 08:37, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
It's Dragon Rage. Nothing special. Ataro (talk) 08:38, 18 June 2012 (UTC)

Catch rate in Yellow?

According to this site, Dragonair and Dragonite actually had different catch rates in Yellow and Yellow only (27 and 9 respectively). Can someone check this and add it to the page somehow? Yamiidenryuu (talk) 00:23, 13 December 2012 (UTC)

It is true - I checked it on a ROM and magical (his Bulbapedia account is a_magical_me, I believe) then ripped all the catch rates from Yellow and confirmed it. Does the template allow for special notes about catch rates?Dragonfree (talk) 00:23, 7 April 2013 (UTC)

Origin of Draganair's orbs

The orbs under Dragonair's chin and on the end of it's tail may be a reference to Chinese dragons being associated with pearls.Robbie (talk) 21:39, 25 April 2017 (UTC)

Ash's Dragonair as New Flying Pic

Should I add Ash's Dragonair as the new "Dragonair flying" pic? I just wanted to add it in that section since it's a more recent example and then add the pic of the Dragonair from Dragonite Island for the "Dragonair in the anime" pic. YoungMan16 (talk) 00:51, 2 December 2020 (UTC)

Doesn't really need to. It's not like the image is from the original series.--ForceFire 04:45, 2 December 2020 (UTC)
