Mienfoo's attack

Mienfoo's attack is stated as Quick Guard, but it cannot possibly be Quick Guard. Quick Guard protects only against priority moves, and Beartic doesn't learn any. However, Beartic can learn Blizzard and Icy Wind, which are moves that hit multiple opponents. And there is a move very similar to Quick Guard that protects against those kinds of moves: Wide Guard. However, Mienfoo cannot learn Wide Guard. But Mienfoo's evolved form Mienshao can. Maybe the writers assumed that because Mienshao can learn Wide Guard, Mienfoo can learn it too. It's really hard to tell at this point. It could be a case of games =/= anime. But, I am aware they have goofed up on moves before. The problem with this is that this was the first time Quick Guard was seen. Maybe we can have a definitive answer when Wide Guard debuts/Quick Guard is shown again. --ケンジのガール 13:08, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

If it was Wide Guard, why was it called "Quick Guard" then? Also, sometimes Safeguard and Reflect protect Pokémon from different moves than in the games.--電禅Den Zen 15:35, 15 September 2011 (UTC)

Why was Ash's Snorlax's Harden called "Protect" in Wheel of Frontier then? If we're gonna have that as Harden based on what it's shown to do, even though it's called Protect in EVERY dub, then I propose that Mienfoo's Quick Guard is changed into Wide Guard, even though it's called Quick Guard in the episode itself, because it is shown to not have the effect of Quick Guard, but Wide Guard.
