==Kirk and Shuckie==
The Kirk and Shuckie part is very misleading. Reading through, it seems to suggest that Kirk will let the player keep Shuckie if they agree to return Shuckie. However, Shuckie needs to have a good friendship level with the player for this to happen. If not, Kirk will simply just take Shuckie back.

Notability of Trivia

Cianwood was the first Fighting-type Pokémon Gym where the player received an Official
Pokémon League Badge. If not for losing it's official status, the honor would have
gone to Saffron City and their Fighting Gym.

I don't think this is a notable enough trivia, since a similar trivia piece would go on to other articles; e.g., Rock-type for Pewter, Water-type for Cerulean... I tried deleting it but Yami Takashi reverted it with the edit summary:

That is no excuse for removing it, the trivia is notable

I'm questioning the notability here because I don't want to start an edit/revert war. I guess it might be notable with Saffron City, but I'm still not very sure. - s.Combusken 02:06, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

I agree that it is non-notable, but the edited version is a little better. IIMarckus 02:10, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

in the first generation the Saffron City Fighting gym was not official and could not give the trainer a badge. 3 years latter the Gym still remained an unoffical league gym depsite having ample time to reattain its status. Not to mention you don't even get to battle any more with the master being off in johto.

Chuck and the Cianwood Gym were the first Gym that the player had to defeat that used fighting tpye pokémon to obtain a badge. Even if in the 3 years time from Gen 1 to 2 that the Saffron Fighting gym got made offical again, the cianwood Gym would still be the first fighting pokemon gym the player would defeat and obtain a badge from. It's a good piece of trivia, I suppose, as long as no one says "LOL BROCK IS FURST ROK TIPE" The only other notable Gym for this first business will be whatever Dark-type Gym we get, if we ever do. TTEchidna 02:39, 19 September 2008 (UTC)

Well like i said though not the first fighting type gym, its the first one that the player defeats for a actual badge. Even if the leader of the Saffron Gym hadn't went to Johto and had gotten his gym official again, by how the game goes you'd still have to defeat the cianwood gym first before even thinking about the saffron gym. Island or actually another landmass? The falshood in the Trivia Section

I removed the Island-based trivia; Cianwood City isn't on an island anymore than Pallet Town or Vermilion City are - it's on the Pokémon Nation's version of Shikoku, one of the great big islands of Japan. Do we say Johto or Kanto are on islands? No, we don't. Do we say Hoenn or Sinnoh are on islands? No, we don't. Kyushu (Hoenn), Hokkaido (Sinnoh), Honshu (Kanto, Johto, and more), and Shikoku (so far, only Cianwood City) are all the great islands that make up the main landmass of Japan. So we don't call them islands, because they're too big to be just islands. So that trivia about it being an island is falsehood and not notable. Satosuke 17:09, 12 October 2008 (UTC)

Thats true. One of the official guides specifically mentions its a peninsula. I say remove it. Mooites 05:29, 11 January 2009 (UTC)
Rewritten; problems should be solved. — THE TROM — 00:03, 21 January 2009 (UTC)

Kirk and Shuckie

The Kirk and Shuckie part is very misleading. Reading through, it seems to suggest that Kirk will let the player keep Shuckie if they agree to return Shuckie. However, Shuckie needs to have a good friendship level with the player for this to happen. If not, Kirk will simply just take Shuckie back. User talk:Koudelka 00:35 8th January 2011
