Cherrygrove never appeared in the anime for some strange reason, if I'm not mistaken.  Strange that in an era where there were so many filler episodes and filler cities and towns, they would skip over one of the game-canonical cities completely.  Even Oldale Town got one episode in Pokémon Advanced.  But Cherrygrove's only mention in anime-canon seems to be that they must have taken a ferry from a port south of the city to get to Altomare for Movie 5. It also appears on Anime maps of Johto, but still, no visitations.  Strange.  I wonder if Sento Cherry Town is a reference as well.  Of course, Cherrygrove's Japanese name is a variant of the Cherry tree, while St.Cherry Town is the name of the Champion's hometown in the original version.  Thus, probably not, unless it's a suburb of Cherrygrove like North Petalburg. For its ubication. Nagoya is in Aichi Prefecture, which is in Chibu, situated between Kanto and Kansai. And Nara, which is based in Violet City, is northwest.

It's only for decoration, I guess. But in HG/SS, you can use surf and access here via Route 30.

Strange. Satosuke 21:22, 26 May 2008 (UTC)

It did appear though. In Once in a Blue Moon. I own the episode and Im pretty positive it said Cherrygrove City. Mooites 21:28, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Mooites.
I can back that up. The episode in question was indeed in Cherrygrove City. Kind of weird how Route 29 spanned nine episodes while Routes 30 and 31 spanned only two episodes put together...--Shiningpikablu252 21:32, 26 May 2008 (UTC)
I guess my memory was a bit vague. I haven't seen that episode since around when it was first shown on Kid's WB. I always wondered why it didn't appear. I definitely remember seeing that episode though. Guess there's a point where my detail memory is a bit patchy. Thanks. Satosuke 02:44, 5 June 2008 (UTC)

For its ubication. Nagoya is in Aichi Prefecture, which is in Chibu, situated between Kanto and Kansai. And Nara, which is based in Violet City, is northwest.
