Um, o.O

"The most spectacular behavior of the Charizard occurs during the breeding season. In the wild, a male in control of a territory will send blasts of fire-breath into the sky. This is a signal to females and rivals alike that the resident male is fit, strong, and confident enough to use his fire for a mere display. When a female accepts the male, the two fly high into the sky, lock talons and plummet into a dizzying dive. They break apart only a few meters from the ground, combining the passion of mating with the thrill of freefall. After the female lays her eggs, the two parents take turns guarding them and keeping them warm with their flame."

Is it just me, or does that passage sound suspiciously like a segment from that Animal Planet special about dragons? Anyone know the one I'm talking about? -- Umbee 18:23, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

Lol. It DOES sound like a show about dragons. XD; TinaTheKirlia File:Ani281MS.gif 18:25, 21 October 2007 (UTC)

So Charizard is a Dragon. Cerberus 09:27, 22 October 2007 (UTC)

Last time I checked, Charizard was never featured on Animal Planet. -- Umbee 12:26, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Yeah, I honestly think it should be removed then. This is an encyclopedia for serious Pokémon fans, right? So we should only keep truth. I honestly think that info that can't be reached on the official Pokémon cards, the anime, the movies, or the games should be removed, unless sourced. Hmm, come to think of it, is it a good idea to make a template similar to [citation needed] tag on Wikipedia? TheBlazikenMaster 21:09, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
I was going to make one myself if nobody else did. XD -- Umbee 21:56, 22 October 2007 (UTC)
Nevermind, I realized we already have one. {{fact}} is there. TheBlazikenMaster 13:08, 23 October 2007 (UTC)

|; I saw a show on Dragon's once, and i'll pretty sure it said exactly that. It was called "The Last Dragon" Takoto タコト| サソデイ = 愛 15:57, 26 July 2008 (UTC)

Actually, that sounds exactly like what this one kind of seabird does. Excluding the firebreath, of course.--Shard1697 22:33, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

Bald Eagles do everything listed with the exception of, um...breathing fire. And I'm pretty sure all this stuff was pulled from that Discovery Channel dragon special anyway.--Loveはドコ? (talk contribs) 22:47, 2 September 2008 (UTC)

But pokémon don't lay eggs, do they?Glitchym1Mglitch 19:37, 24 January 2009 (UTC)

Jersey Devil

Really??? The page on Wikipedia shows the Jersey Devil looking like a skinny horse with bat-like wings. Charizard doesn't really reflect this... ~$aturn¥oshi THE VOICES 02:42, 12 June 2008 (UTC)

Wonderin'

I'm thinking of writing that Charizard is a very known trademark....... I mean, come on, right? You guys would know that it IS a very known Pokémon trademark. So, well, I wrote it on the top part, where it says it's cover appearances........... and it got erased......... Do you guys think it should be written in trivia? I'm just WONDERIN'............. I think I should get you guys' appinions' on this........File:Ani006MS.gif Dragonbeastx 03:51, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Well, I don't see the point of pointing it out... Articles are written for info on a determined Pokémon species, not its trademarks and stuff like that. hfc2X 04:22, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Okay...Ani006MS.pngStill Charizard.......He, he.......Dragonbeastx 17:12, 5 December 2008 (UTC)

Trapinch

How is it fail? I did just say that not all Pokemon are introduced in the next generation following when they were designed... The Gastrodons are evidence of that, having been designed in third generation and introduced in fourth. The same is true for Trapinch, which was originally intended to be the pre-evolution of Charizard, but was discarded and reintroduced later on as a Bug type. Redstar 06:01, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Umm... Proof??? --ケンジガール 06:08, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
The thing is, they said so in an interview that Shellos and Gastrodon were initially to be in Gen III. Nothing at all indicates Trapinch is related in any way to Charizard, especially considering the fact that, as the starters, it's highly likely they were among the first evolutionary lines finalized. Pokémon Red and Green came out in 1996, and were being worked on for six whole years beforehand. Ruby and Sapphire came out in 2003. Sure, there's possibility that maybe Trapinch was intended for Gen I, but there's possibility Ambipom was too. There's possibility that Mewthree really exists, and that Missingno. is really a SUPER HYPER LEGENDARYYYYYY. Except not. We didn't even acknowledge Giratina as part of the dragon trio until shortly before Platinum.
Now, where's this concept art with Trapinch and Charizard together? Hm? Any proof at all? Because going by the Red and Green sprites is just... no.
And by the way, Trapinch is a Template:Type2. It doesn't become Ground/Bug until it evolves. TTEchidna 06:10, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
It's Ground/Dragon actually. It never was a Bug-type. --ケンジガール 06:13, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
I never said that there was concept art of them together, just concept art that highly suggests a relationship between the two... I also never said I was going by sprites, so I don't know where you got that from, and whether or not it's a Bug type in its first stage or second is semantics and shouldn't be brought up at all. We're not here to argue, but to discuss. Redstar 06:15, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Can we see it, please? At the moment this sounds kinda.... suspect. —darklordtrom 06:16, 3 September 2009 (UTC)
Sh Kenji I knew that... >>
Anyway, look at this and this. That's the antlion in its larval stage and its adult stage. First looks (and acts) like Trapinch, second is like Flygon (even called a "sand dragon" by some because it resembles a dragonfly). TTEchidna 06:19, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Preliminary Shot

I remember my friend had firered, and he had a charizard and i seem to remember it would attack the oponent upon sending it out, as ash's charizard would. is this true or am i remembering wrong?--Ben7229 16:50, 8 November 2009 (UTC)

Um... no. There is probably something wrong with the game. CuboneKing 16:53, 8 November 2009 (UTC)
The other possibility is that your friend may have hacked or something. I highly doubt that Firered's coding and programming would so much as allow that to happen in the first place. Superbreeder 20:32, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Charizard Picture

Hey, is it just me or did the "artwork from FR/LG" picture change? It seems a lot more detailed than before. ----GEN1KING ([[User talk:TALK]]) 06:26, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Yes. —darklordtrom 03:46, 10 January 2010 (UTC)
