Okay, so I was having this battle on my White 2, in the Battle Subway. I commanded my Watchog to use Bide, and at the end of three turns, only Yamask was left on the foe's side. And contrary to this page, my game stated, "It doesn't affect the opposing Yamask...". I thought I should discuss about the possible error on this page rather than straightaway editing. Perhaps someone should check it on their Generation V game and confirm and edit the page. [[User:Harryghost|Harryghost]] ([[User talk:Harryghost|talk]]) 14:17, 27 June 2017 (UTC)

:If that is indeed the case, could you confirm it, please. Is it possible that the message was from a {{m|Future Sight}} or {{m|Doom Desire}} that missed (if it was "at the end" of the third turn)? Or alternatively, could it be that your Watchog just received no damage during its Bide use (but Yamask was the Pokémon who hit it last, before that)!? "All Pokémon that can learn TMs in Generation I can learn Bide. " How about giving a list of Pokemon that can't learn TMs then? Eric the espeon 18:13, 3 September 2009 (UTC)

Bide's Damage Pool

I've been using Bide a lot in Gen I Mt. Moon, and it really seems as if Bide's damage pool is reset when an opponent uses an absorption move like Leech Life. I consistently do almost no damage against Zubats that are eating my rather low-level Pokémon alive. Could someone who knows more about these things look into this? Sleep Cancels Bide

The article states that sleep and similar effects will pause but not disrupt the duration of Bide. However, in Platinum at least, a Biding Pokemon that is put to sleep will not resume using Bide when it awakens. Does anyone have more accurate information about this? I just did some experimenting in Soulsilver and Sleep has the same effect on Bide as in Platinum. I will do more experimenting in my Pearl version and edit the page based on my findings. Alex726my talk page 01:41, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

It also has the same effect in Pearl. I finished my experimenting and will edit the page now. Alex726my talk page 11:03, 26 August 2010 (UTC)

I edited the page to include sleep's effects on Bide. Sorry for the delay but my computer kept telling me there was a "system error" or something like that and wouldn't let me save the changes. Alex726my talk page 20:36, 27 August 2010 (UTC)

Does Bide still hit ghosts?

As of Gen V? TorchicBlaziken (talkedits) 02:32, 23 April 2011 (UTC)

Generation I

I found out that Bide hits Ghost types in Generation I. This is because it doesn't calculate the damage with the normal formula. Thus, it doesn't use type effectiveness where the factor zero for Normal type attacks moves against Ghost types would come from. In Generation I, that actually goes for every move without given power, except Thunder Wave and the K.O.-moves, as far as I know. --Pummeluff 20:55, 14 July 2011 (UTC)

Disable

Should it be mentioned that Disable will interrupt this move if it is used during Bide's idling turns? I've verified it in Gen V. Frayer (talk) 01:41, 20 September 2016 (UTC)
