Origin

I've seen a lot of people comparing it to a red panda rather than a bear. This explains the tail's length, and the color scheme. The more bear-like attributes may be a reference to the panda bear, which shares its name with red panda but they are otherwise unrelated, though often mistaken for each other (or relatives). It's the literal embodiment of a "Bear Hug". The tail is a coincidence. --BlisseyandtheAquaJets (talk) 16:50, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
I think we should also add Mascot to the mix. Random Chaos (talk) 14:08, 19 July 2016 (UTC)
It may be based off a onikuma, a bear yokai known to stand on two feet.Yamitora1 (talk) 16:04, 19 July 2016 (UTC)

Why does the origin claim it's muzzle is based on a red pandas? its a generic muzzle that can be seen on any teddy bear like these two here. Yamitora1 (talk) 17:13, 20 July 2016 (UTC)

Because the muzzle in combination with the ears and tail is overall similar to a red panda. It's the same square shape and white color, as opposed to a bears slightly narrower, longer muzzle. Crystal Talian 22:15, 20 July 2016 (UTC)
Yes but Teddy bears and most stuffed animals which this seems to draw some inspiration from have a muzzle that isn't realistic or true to their source. Plus think of how many cartoon bears there are who have muzzles that don't match their real life counterparts. Its part of the stylization. I'm not arguing against tail/ears, but the muzzle seems to be lazily tacked on just to try and ratify the inclusion of saying it shares traits with red pandas. It's like someone thought "Well, it has a ringed tail like a red panda, and the ears look somewhat like a red panda's as well...shame it doesn't have the markings around the eyes though, i know, we'll say its muzzle also looks like a red pandas to cement it" You don't have to list everything just to justify the observation.
It should be changed to "it shares several traits with the Red Panda such as its long, ringed tail." or something of a similar effect. I mean no one wrote on the Charjabug article that its seems to be based off a car battery or based off a VRLA Battery, it just says battery, no needless extra flavor text added. Name Origin

Vinx on the forum said it could come "kitten" (red pandas are sometimes called cat-bears and it looks like a bear dressing as a cat with the ears headband), "kigurumi" (animal onesie/costume, it does look like it's based on a mascot or something similar) and kuma (bear) which you already have.Zeb (talk) 10:37, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
