Fanname

I don't think we should use fannames. I believe it should be moved to Galactic Grunt (DPA) or something like that. Fannames go to trivia. --Maxim 07:50, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
It has been ageeed that we would keep it as the fan name for now--☆Coolピカチュウ! 08:06, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
What does "for now" mean? He will never have an official name, most probably... And since we don't use Coronis's names, we shouldn't use other fannames too. --Maxim 08:10, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
I agree with Maxim. No fan-names. -Sketch 10:21, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
I Disagree with all of you. Delete this page.--FF(editstalk) 10:39, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
He is a recurring character that is deserving of his own page. -Sketch 10:42, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Fan names aren't exactly a territory I particularly wanted to have to enter either. However, he is a notable character and he has no official name. "Galactic Grunt (DPA)" feels a little generic to me (especially provided that he isn't the only Galactic Grunt in the series, even if none of the others are notable) and something like "The Galactic Grunt with the swollen butt" is too long winded. "Uranus", while it is a fan name, is concise and easily differentiates the character from other grunts without resorting to "The Galactic Grunt with the swollen butt". (Honestly, as much as I love the guy, back when I was writing the chapter summaries I really had to struggle not to make his "name" too long winded every time he appeared.) In my opinion, "Uranus" should be sufficient. (Also... Regarding FF, delete the article? Dear god no... I spent over an hour cross referencing stuff with the manga to write the darn thing. @_@) --Sato 15:05, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
Well, but it's still a fanname... Our policies tell us not to use them. Well, so maybe... what about encouraging Viz to use "Uranus" as the official name for that grunt? :P --Maxim 15:24, 4 April 2009 (UTC)
I'm sorry, but having this article as Uranus is misleading. That's not his name. I'm moving this to Galactic Grunt (DPA) and will change any instance of Uranus to grunt. -Sketch 10:30, 5 April 2009 (UTC)
Fair enough, the policy to not use fan names is indeed a solid one, even if this character may have no actual name. However, I do think the name "Uranus" should be notable enough for at least the trivia, especially considering that all of Coronis's fan names appear to be mentioned in the trivia for PokéSpe characters. Also of note, I've come across a fan name used by the Japanese, "K-2", a pun on "ketsu", the Japanese word for "butt". --Sato 13:11, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

Didn't TTEchidna give the okay for this article to be called "Uranus?" "Galactic Grunt (DPA)" is just as misleading as "Uranus," since he isn't the ONLY Galactic Grunt in DPA.--Totodilesentret!Talk to me. 13:18, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

But he's the most notable one. Other ones don't deserve their articles. If it's annoying for you, then we can change this into an article about Grunts in DPA in general, with the biggest section being about "Uranus". --Maxim 13:34, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
Indeed he did. And as I mentioned earlier, the fact that he isn't the only Grunt in the series is one of the major reasons why I originally went for "Uranus". However I can respect Maxim and Sketch's position of not wanting a fan-made name, even if it's the only name we have. My respect for that position is why I haven't gone and reverted things and gotten into an edit war and instead gone and changed all links to "Uranus" over to "Galactic Grunt (DPA)". Perhaps if there is to be more discussion about the article's name, we should put it to one of those Wiki-votes or something? (Also, wrote all this before Maxim's reply) --Sato 13:36, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

That's a good idea, Sato. Voting is good because it shows the community's opinion.--Totodilesentret!Talk to me. 13:45, 6 April 2009 (UTC)

This cannot be Uranus because that is not his name; he doesn't have one, yet is notable. Besides, I have never ONCE heard him be called Uranus as a fan name besides here in this article. To call him a fan name, that misrepresents what Bulbapedia is for, real information. -Sketch 21:08, 6 April 2009 (UTC)
