Would this triva be notable enough?

I know I can't add trivia at the moment, but I'm just checking if this information is notable enough: "Palpitoad marks the first time that Ash has caught two Water types in one region since Kingler." Don't Hug Lucario! 16:13, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

Technically not true. He caught Totodile and Seaking in Johto. Granted, Seaking appears to have been temporary, but as a Poké Ball was used, it still counts. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 16:16, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
And that "since Kingler" part makes it unnotable anyways.----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 16:20, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
How about this one then? "Palpitoad is the first Water type that Ash has caught that has a second type" Is this notable enough to be put on when trivia is allowed again? I Liek Gengarz! Do Joo Liek Dem? 20:32, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
Lol, I removed that trivia from Lapras's page earlier today...----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 20:34, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
May I refer up to Lapras Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 20:35, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
Yeah, I just forgot about that one. I Liek Gengarz! Do Joo Liek Dem? 20:37, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

Is the fact that Palpitoad is the fourth of Ash's Pokemon to be caught already in its evolved form notable? --VolticWind 21:15, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

The fact that it's the fourth makes it not notable. Ataro 21:21, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

How about this? Palpitoad marks the first time that Ash caught a Water/Ground type in Ash's team or Palppitoad marks the second water type that he catch since Kingler - unsigned comment from KingCharizard (talkcontribs)

Again, you've forgotten Lapras. Ash caught Lapras after already having Squirtle in his party. I don't think Palpitoad qualifies for any "first *something* since *the last time*" trivia. —darklordtrom 01:00, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Something that -might- be notable: Palpitoad is the first Ground-type that Ash has caught he did not befriend before capturing it. He battled Turtwig, but he had already befriended him by then. (It'd be this way with Water-Type, but unfortunately, Ash had to fight Corphish :P) Myzou 05:17, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

OR, you could say how Palpitoad is the first Pokémon Ash caught past the base form. Torpoleon 12:55, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
Pikachu? Pidgeot? Though I admit Pichu wasn't introduced in Gen I, but the point still stands. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 12:59, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
Also not forgetting Snorlax, Noctowl, Primeape, Raticate, Muk (and possibly Haunter), Palpitoad's stage is only relevant in his Unova captures, i agree with Trom just leave it as it is ChromeVoid42 13:11, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
For the loe of god why do people keep looking for reasons to add trivia? We don't need trivia for every page. It's just sad that some people are so desperate to add something edit the other parts of the article or a stub. --Pokemaster97 14:18, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
My bad, I meant for Unova. Not in general, sorry. It's just that I saw this talk page and realized a potential piece of trivia. It could be worded like this: Palpitoad is Ash's first Pokémon caught in Unova to be caught past the base form. Or something like that. Torpoleon 20:53, 4 June 2011 (UTC)
Nope. The bottom line is: NO TRIVIA. We need to focus on the more important aspects. We're an encyclopedia, not a trivia-pedia. Please understand this and let's drop this discussion. Thank you. Jo the Marten ಠ_ಠ 21:17, 4 June 2011 (UTC)

Not the same

So it was confirmed that this Palpitoad isn't the same as the one from BW031? :--SuperAipom7 (Questions?) 19:36, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

They have different VAs so yes.----無限の知性DENNOUZENSHI 19:44, 19 May 2011 (UTC)
Cool. Just wondering. :--SuperAipom7 (Questions?) 19:44, 19 May 2011 (UTC)

Maybe this counts as Trivia?

I think it could be mentioned that Ash catching Palpitoad in this episode mirrors Ash being responsible for Trip failing to catch a Palpitoad in the last episode. It seems notable, but the main reason for adding it is that it subliminally gets the point across that this is a different Palpitoad to the one Trip tried to catch (at least, according to the topic above) as many people seem confused about "why there is no mention of its appearance in BW031".

Also, Ash's Swadloon had the piece of trivia 'Swadloon is Ash's only Pokémon without a confirmed gender' until it was confirmed male, so I think Palpitoad should have that piece. At least until Roggenrola comes along. Torngentleman2 19:41, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

Uh, what about Ash's Pokémon at Oak's? :--SuperAipom7 (Questions?) 19:48, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Like Kenji-Girl said there is no notable or useful trivia for this this pokemon as of now. Let's concentrate on editing other articles not trivia all of the time. --Pokemaster97 19:53, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Sorry, the trivia said 'Swadloon is the only Pokémon Ash captured in Unova without a confirmed gender'. If it was notable there, it should be notable here. Torngentleman2 19:59, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
It's not trivia. The info box already says its gender is unknown, and Ash's Swadloon doesn't even have that trivia anymore. The Palpitoad issue however could potentially be notable, but I'll let Kenji-girl handle this as she's more knowledgeable in this subject area. Jellotalk 20:06, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Why is it so necessary to put some trivia this article?Hikaru Wazana 20:32, 20 May 2011
If people are going to be picky about what goes on trivia, I honestly don't think there should even be a trivia section. I enjoyed reading some of the trivia, and it was a nice reflection and everything that happened in the anime altogether. But suddenly more than half of the trivia became unnotable and got removed, now most pages are barren, and it really annoys me. Personally I would remove the trivia section in general, it's just too much of a hassle to deal with apparently. But then again I'm only one person out of many. --Dman dustin 21:25, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Personally, I think this conversation should be over. :--SuperAipom7 (Questions?) 21:26, 20 May 2011 (UTC)
Most pages are barren now because we removed trivia? Sorry but I'm just not seeing that. And if trivia takes up most of a page, I would find that a problem. It shouldn't do that. A lot of the trivia I removed were either extremely obvious or comparisons.
I like trivia, okay. But peopled have just gotten ridiculous with it. Do you really think it is notable to say "This Pokémon is Ash's fourth *insert type here*-type."? Who really cares about that? I don't think that just because we don't allow some trivia anymore doesn't mean that all trivia should go. It is not required that all pages have a trivia section. So just stop trying to find something to add. Instead, focus your energy on how the history section could be improved or something. That's another reason this page was protected. If nobody was going to bother trying to clean up the summary and just put trivia then maybe it shouldn't be edited at all.
This page was just created and its talk is filled with mostly trivia discussions. This is why we're trying to cut down on it. People depend too much on it now. The articles are not created just so people can ignore it and scroll down to the trivia section. The trivia sections should be for small, interesting tidbits that someone may not have thought of. None of the trivia that people put for Palpitoad reflects that. I mean, tell me what this is? "Palpitoad is Ash's first Pokémon that knew Hydro Pump and not Water Gun." Why is that important? That's all I have to say about the matter. I wish for no one to post after me if you can kindly grant that request. --ケンジガール 22:36, 20 May 2011 (UTC)

With Juniper or on party?

You know Palpitoad should be in the "Status Unknown" because we don't know if Ash choose to switch someone or send it to Juniper. Pikatwig 02:34, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Actually we do. Ash already had 6 Pokémon in his party. If he catches a seventh it automaticly goes to Professor Juniper and will stay there untill he reaches a pokemon center to get it. --Pokemaster97 02:39, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

Hey dude watch BW018 with subtitles and you'll figure out that the Poke Ball just seals. Pikatwig 05:50, 21 May 2011 (UTC)

I was under the impression that now if he catches a seventh Pokémon, the Poké Ball becomes unusable until Ash sends one of his six on-hand Pokémon or the new capture to Juniper. Right now we don't know what Ash did. Hell, when he caught Sewaddle, we didn't know until the next episode that it was Pidove he sent to Juniper's so Sewaddle could be on his team. Palpitoad could be with Ash or Juniper right now. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 02:43, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
There, see? No Palpitoad by the end of the episode, problem solved. ♫♪エイディニズ♪♫ 02:50, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Ah, I see. Yeah, that pretty much settles it then. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 02:54, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
What was being pointed out was that when Sewaddle was caught, the Poké Ball simply locks, and that was explained. It will unlock once another Pokémon is sent to Professor Juniper. Seeing the other 6 of Ash's Pokémon means nothing. For all we know, he has Palpitoad's Poké Ball with him, just currently unusable. He was not seen going to a Pokémon Center after catching Palpitoad, so there is no reason to believe Palpitoad is with Professor Juniper. Myzou 05:17, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Hey thanks for the back-up Missingno. Master and Myzou. I have to repay you both! :) Pikatwig 05:50, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
This is why I don't understand why we don't use somthing like rotated team, Cilan said there were no centers around thats why they had to get the plants, by the end of the episode they were all in the same place so he must have Palpitoad's sealed Poké ball, and we don't always see Ash switch Pokemon, he dose it between episodes, soon we are gonna spend all our time figuring out who is actually on his team and the Pokémon's pages will be littered with Was sent to junipers, but then brought back and sent to junipers again. I know somone is gonna say we're not Serebii buut mabye Seribii has got it right, no shame in having the same Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 08:28, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
NOT HELPING! It's going to be in "Status Unknown" til proven otherwise! Pikatwig 15:03, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
Sorry about snapping, thank you User:Kenji-girl for the back up I have to repay you later. Pikatwig 15:08, 21 May 2011 (UTC)
You all realize there is one flaw with the way everything is done here, right? Does anyone really expect Palpitoad to remain inactive with Ash forever? And does anyone really expect the next time they go to the Pokemon Center, that we'll see onscreen Ash depositing Palpitoad. What happens if in the next episode BW036, Ash sends out just Palpitoad? What do we do then? Or more to the point, What happens when in hypothetical episode #1 Ash sends out Palpitoad, Tepig, and Snivy and then in hypothetical episode #2 Ash sends out Oshawott, Scraggy, and Tranquill, and then in the next episode (hypothetical episode #3) Ash sends out Osahwott and Swadloon, or any reserve combination. When it was just Swadloon and Tranquill, it was easy to say they switched between the two. But Palpitoad complicates matters even more. Especially if we have to wait until Ash has out 6 of his Pokemon. User 05308 has a good idea, before Ash somehow has 8 Pokemon on hand because it takes forever for Ash to send out all of his Pokemon on hand, and with the "wait until it airs policy" and we can only update what Ash used in an episode, while everything else remains "status unknown" every episode that airs because eventually Ash will most likely have 8 Pokemon on hand before we get definitive proof on what's on Ash's team (because BW036 could show Pikachu, Tranquill Oshawott, Tepig, and Snivy, BW037 could show Pikachu, Oshawott, Scraggy, Swadloon and BW037 could just show Pikachu, Palpitoad, Scraggy). Shouldn't we make it more simple and easy by just having all of them under one heading, something like "Ash rotates these following Pokemon, some are with him, others are at Professor Juniper's lab" or something shorter and to the point if that heading was too long. Maybe a "Rotation" heading and a subheading explaining what I just said "Some are with him, others are at Professor Juniper's". --Dman dustin 04:25, 22 May 2011 (UTC)
I'd have to agree with the above. It's just getting confusing and annoying. We need to make it easier so we aren't always editing articles. --HoennMaster 06:03, 22 May 2011 (UTC)

Are we really sure it was Supersonic? Because I just listened to it, and I couldn't hear anything resembling "chouonpa" during that scene. Plus Oshawott didn't become confused, and looked like it was taking damage, which Supoersonic can't do. So are we 100% sure, because like I said I didn't hear Dent saying "Chounpa" at all. Granted it could be pronounced differently than I expect it to be pronounced, but I just want clarification on the matter. --Dman dustin 06:01, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

Chouonpa was the first thing Cilan said when Ash asked Oshawott what was the matter. --ケンジガール 06:11, 26 May 2011 (UTC)

If it is supersonic why would Mijumaru not get confused?? And why did it take damage??RBK 00:31, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Who knows. But it's definitely Supersonic. Besides that, Tympole were shown using the same move and Oshawott did get confused that time. --ケンジガール 00:51, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Oh OK well it will probably get it in the future anyways so whatever.RBK 02:48, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

I think that this is potential for trivia: Palpitoad's being both water type and head of a gang when ash caught it is similar to that of Asdh's Squirtle in the Original Series. --Damionic 23:26, 17 June 2011 (UTC)User:Damionic|||User Talk: Damionic

We're actually trying to stay away from trivia and comparisons in trivia at the moment, sorry. --P S Yライダー 23:27, 17 June 2011 (UTC)

Palpitoad is quite a rowdy Pokémon, and likes to be the boss over others, such as when he commanded a group of Tympole and Cilan's Stunfisk to attack Ash and his Oshawott. Palpitoad is also very protective over what it claims as its own, such as territory, as shown in the same instance. Palpitoad can generally seem aggressive at times. Since its capture, Palpitoad has not been seen since, so it is unknown if it acts differently towards Ash now.

Would that be good enough? Torngentleman2 20:22, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

that is the right kind of thing, mabye some better words like dominant here and there, but we should wait till it appears again, to see how it dose act on the team, same way I did with Stunfisk Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 20:25, 28 June 2011 (UTC)

Do we really think the personality section here is valid, Palpitoad has appeared twice and unlike Stunfisk, had conflicting personalities in each episode. I do not think the personality section here is a good reflection of how Palpitoad ir, rather it is a reflection of two different moods he has been in Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 18:10, 8 July 2011 (UTC)

Scratch that, it is valid Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 12:24, 9 July 2011 (UTC)

I'd find it notable, but if other people don't then I'm fine with that. But shouldn't we mention that Palpitoad is Ash's first and only water type immune to electricity? If only because water/ground Pokemon were probably specifically designed to be immune to electric type moves. Like I said if it's not notable, then don't bother, but I was just wondering --Dman dustin 22:34, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

Hmmm. I'm leaning towards no. It's pretty obvious that since it's part ground it's resistant to Electric attacks so it's not that special. You can see what other people think though. --Pokemaster97 22:47, 6 December 2011 (UTC)
I don't think so, it'd be like pointing out that Gligar is Ash's first Flying type immune to Electricity, or that Scraggy is his first Fighting type immune to Psychic. Its just an observation of type. Toon Ganondorf (t c) 23:02, 6 December 2011 (UTC)

plapitoad shown to be a great powewrhouse of ash team with great endurance as well
