Number of times Flying Press was used

"Ash offered to help Hawlucha perfect Flying Press, which eventually ended in success after two failed attempts." This statement is not entirely true. After Hawlucha used Flying Press once against the piece of wood, Ash tells it to keep trying again. Time actually passes when we see Hawlucha fail once more, because Serena says (rough translation) "How many times has this been repeating?", and Bonnie agrees and says she can't count anymore.--Rikeo (talk) 11:18, 11 July 2014 (UTC)

Right, I don't speak or understand Japanese at all, so I only know what I saw in the video and not words so I assume you are correct, thanks for changing it StephenWalker97 (talk) 15:20, 13 July 2014 (UTC)

endurance and stamina

he or she shown to have great endurance and stamina on his/her side to battle pokemon he was talking attacks from three pokemon then later after he was saved by the old leader of the forrest pokemon he had battle against ash frokie but it was draw.

so will we say for personalty to have great condition in battle of pokemon--Terryberry94 (talk) 17:08, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

hi please dont write like this as it makes it hard for me to understand what you are saying. If you are suggesting that we put this in the article as part of Hawlucha's characteristics, I think we should see it in more battles before we mention anything about its strength. If you just want to discuss about Hawlucha's strength, this isn't the right place for it. Please go to the forums if you want to chat about things like this. Thank you for your understanding. He's here! The one and only...Uncle Edit! (talk) 17:29, 12 July 2014 (UTC)

You were right about this since watching the epsode the sky battle he lost but took some massive damage. But I don't understand he got beaten up by the other wild pokemon and still could battle against ash froki which end in the draw.--Terryberry94 (talk) 18:27, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

Before an edit war starts...

Not sure if I'm imagining things, but I think I've seen this sentence added and deleted more than once: "Had An Undersea Place to Call Home! not been skipped, Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction would have featured Hawlucha's first anime appearance." It is true isn't it? Why was this sentence removed? --Rikeo (talk) 09:25, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

I removed it because at the point in time of the skipped episode, the episode of his capture had been announced as such there is no guarantee that they were originally going to follow that plan, really it is just an assumption--Ditto51/Tom (My Talk Page) 13:37, 23 July 2014 (UTC)

Trivia: Reveal

I feel that the part about Hawlucha's capture being first revealed in the leaks of the 17th movie manga adaptation is actually incorrect.

It was actually revealed long before that around March in this ad about toys relating to the TV show (same applies for the Fletchinder as well).

Here is the image link (bottom left corner), 1604392_704187616267995_559563612_n.jpg

And, here is the post that mentioned it first, http://www.serebiiforums.com/showthread.php?616359-Pocket-Monsters-XY-Pok%E9mon-Speculation-Thread&p=17034782#post17034782.--LatS (talk) 11:04, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

That doesn't technically count as a "reveal" more of a "foreshadow".--ForceFire 12:33, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

Wing Attack

Is it confirmed that Hawlucha actually used Karate chop? Its wings did glow and it glided towards team rocket. It did not seem to me like Karate chop where only the hand and a bitof wing glowed in the 2 previous episodes Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 17:06, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

Yes, it has been called Karate Chop multiple times.--Den Zen 17:09, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

No sorry, I mean in XY037, Karate chop was shown in XY035 and 36 as the hand and trim of the wing glowing white. However in XY037, Hawlucha's wings glowed in full and it glided and struck the opponent with them Diamond Lanturn CodeName: 05308 17:56, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

After watching Hawlucha's battle with Team Rocket again, I have verified that Ash did command Hawlucha to use Karate Chop. Why the animation was different, well I don't know. Either it might be an error, or maybe not. --リック EO (Open for discussion) 00:52, 2 August 2014 (UTC)
Wouldn't be the first time they made that sort of error. I'm reminded of Ash's Snorlax, and how its Harden was referred to as Protect in both the dub and the original. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 01:25, 2 August 2014 (UTC)

Possible Gender

Before I begin, I just want to mention that this information is NOT OFFICIAL. In the xfinity description for The Forest Champion!, Hawlucha is referred to as male. Of course, whoever wrote the description may have simply used that to make it easier to follow, but I feel that it is at least worth mentioning on the talk page. This information should not be put on the actual article unless it is confirmed by an official source (a gender-specific move or ability is used by a Pokémon with the confirmed gender in the anime, or perhaps a character stating "he", "she", or the equivalent in another language). I don't even think that this should be mentioned as an error if it turns out that Hawlucha is female. Maybe I'm wrong, but I know that I'm rambling. Bigpboy (talk) 02:28, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

Can you please tell me what it says? --リックEO (オープン for discussion) 05:45, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
There is a small bit where "he" is used but it is refering to Ash as it was if Ash won then it would join Ash's team. Otherwise I can see nothing else that you could mean. --Ditto51/Tom (My Talk Page)

07:00, 15 September 2014 (UTC)

I can't provide the exact text, but it said something about Ash finding a Hawlucha, but his artistic flair was hindering him in battles. In both cases, the description is referring to Hawlucha. Bigpboy (talk) 12:27, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
Whatever you saw must have been fixed already. I've checked this page, the episode page, Ash's page and the main Hawlucha page and can't see it. --Ditto51/Tom (My Talk Page) 12:43, 15 September 2014 (UTC)
If I am understand this correctly, and there is a good chance I am not, but isn't this about an episode blurb from a television provider? For it to have been fixed, you would need to find when the episode will next air. (Though, in all seriousness, I do not see the point in the discussion if my assumption is correct.) --Super goku (talk) 01:19, 16 September 2014 (UTC)

Is this notable?

I saw this on a site; an exterior site. I haven't watched the episode, just this one animation from the episode. Is it notable, that, like Mankey did in its debut, Ash's Hawlucha stole his hat and wore it as well, like Aipom? Just curious! WATERWarrior67 18:48, 5 October 2014 (UTC)

Hawlucha didn't steal Ash's hat. Ash dropped his hat when being kidnapped, so Froakie picked up and gave the hat to Hawlucha for him* to wear. --リックEO (My message board) 03:52, 6 October 2014 (UTC)

Image

Since the current image only shows half(ish) of Hawlucha's body and for the anime we generally aim for body shots, shouldn't we find a better image. StephenWalker97 (talk) 21:42, 22 December 2014 (UTC)

Reason for catching Hawlucha

Does anyone else feel that the only reason the anime gave Ash a Hawlucha was so they could replace Korrina's Hawlucha with her Mega Lucario for Ash's gym battle with her? I can't shake the feeling that that was the case. If so, can this be mentioned in the trivia section? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 18:03, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

No. That's just speculation.--ForceFire 04:06, 23 February 2015 (UTC)

Gender Again

I'm not good with Japanese, but I'm told that the Japanese versions of episodes use male pronouns in reference to Hawlucha. If this is true, then that confirms the gender regardless of what the English dub does. CycloneGU (talk) 05:11, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

What episode is it? --~~ThePokémonFanSince1995~~-- 05:32, 26 May 2015 (UTC)
I'm not sure, I hoped that someone here might know. I can try to get more information. CycloneGU (talk) 06:39, 26 May 2015 (UTC)

A Not-So-Flying Start! Clement said he was male because Clement said He hasn't seen him for while but i might be wrong--SilverioBOMB (talk) 03:05, 1 September 2015 (UTC)

Wrong. Clemont clearly says "It's been a while since I've seen it". I just viewed it now and checked. CycloneGU (talk) 03:48, 1 September 2015 (UTC)
Well I have heard characters use male pronouns in the Japanese version (I'm half-Japanese), but gender pronouns are not used for gender confirmation (correct me if I'm wrong). --リックEO (メッセージ) 08:03, 13 September 2015 (UTC)

Hat picture

Can someone post a picture of Hawlucha wearing Ash's hat in Forging Forest Friendships!? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 01:38, 22 September 2015 (UTC)

About Hawlucha

How is Hawlucha male? Does one of the episode say anything about its gender?--JasonL (Talk) 05:07, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

As I said while editing it, in the Poké TV segment for XY104, the announcer refers to the fight between Hawlucha and Carl's Hawlucha as a "fight between men", in a similar context to Ash's Noibat's fight against Breloom. - Chosen of Mana 05:45, 2 February 2016 (UTC)

XY130

I saw Hawlucha was burning red for no reason during his battle in the Conference. Is that a new move or a improved one?--CoolPokéGuy (Talk) 00:51, 12 August 2016 (UTC)

It seems to be neither, Ash doesn't command anything but to block, Hawlucha uses all 4 of its moves and it hasn't got an item to let go of to activate Unburden (He got paralyzed by Bisharp so it's not Limber). You could say he went Gear Second but right now it seems that it was just a thing that Happened to make Hawlucha more resistant to attacks, Faster than the Fastest Speed Stat Pokémon known to man right now and able to actually hit the Weavile who had been dodging its attacks ¬_¬ Azure/ChromeVoid42 (talk) 12:17, 12 August 2016 (UTC)
