Since the last comment on this was almost a year old, I thought I would ask in a different way. What exactly qualifies as a release by Bulbapedia's guidelines, because it sure as hell isn't based on the anime. We've seen Paul and Jessie release Pokemon, to be released from their Poke ball. But that clearly doesn't qualify for Goodra, as Ash used Goodra in the Kalos league where it still had its Poke ball. Unless you want to speculate and say that Ash re-caught Goodra for the sake of league, does saying Goodra being released make any sense at all given that we actual have anime examples of Pokemon truly being released with Paul and Jessie? I don't think a Pokemon that is registered in a Poke ball can be considered released, I know that makes Butterfree and Pidgeot questionable and even Greninja, but I can currently ignore them since we haven't seen them in a Poke ball. But Goodra was last seen in a Poke ball, I doubt it makes sense that after the Kalos league that Ash actually released Goodra, as that would be pure speculation, and we have to go based on what we have which is Goodra was seen in a Poke ball since it was left at the Swamp, in the Kalos League and the Team Flare climax, and then it was returned back to the swamp. I get that it doesn't qualify as "training" but I do think it could qualify for a new category of "Other" as in Ash didn't release Goodra the same way as Paul or Jessie with their Pokemon, and still is registered with its Poke ball. Calling it "released" seems contradictory to what the anime has shown in the past unless there's some qualifier of being "released" which doesn't directly mean what the anime has shown, is there? --[[User:Dman dustin|Dman dustin]] ([[User talk:Dman dustin|talk]]) 18:09, 2 October 2017 (UTC)

Evolution

Shouldn't we put that Goomy may evolve in a future episode as the opening shows Goomy evolving into Goodra.Pichu911 12:05, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

When the episode in question is revealed, then we'll add it.--ForceFire 12:11, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Is this trivia worthy?

Is it worth mentioning that Goomy is Ash's first pure Dragon-type Pokémon? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 18:43, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

I would say no, because this is Ash's second Dragon-type Pokémon not fifth or something like that so it isn't that significant. StephenWalker97 (talk) 17:06, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

PKMNAdventurer Stated that Goomy is Ash Full non Secondary Dragon Type Typing,I Meant that because His Gible is a Dragon and Ground Types - unsigned comment from TitaniumDrago (talkcontribs)

Maybe they should add a trivia that says Goomy is the second Dragon type Pokémon who can evolve into a Pseudo Legendary, the first is Gible. Esquilo30 (talk) 03:51, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Seconds are not notable. And saying it is the first pure type is just stretching the trivia to make it notable.--ForceFire 03:58, 18 January 2015 (UTC)

Ability?

How do we know that Goomy's ability is Hydtration? Its body drying out is the reason why it needs water which is in its Pokedex entry.Pichu911 21:42, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Although its already been removed, unless Ash or one of his friends mentions that it being healed is due to Hydration (I don't understand Japanese so I don't know), we shouldn't add it until its confirmed. StephenWalker97 (talk) 17:19, 9 January 2015 (UTC)

Data Broadcast

We got data broadcast for Sligoo finally so Goomy's rapid evolution was true so shouldn't we now protect the page and put that Goomy is set to evolve in a future episode.Pichu911 00:32, 12 January 2015 (UTC)

We know it's going to evolve, we don't know when. Until the episode in question has been announced, it will stay unprotected. I've semi protected for now, just in case other users want to add information about it for future episodes.--ForceFire 03:12, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
Actually the broadcast data was for XY065 so we actually know when it is going to evolve.Pichu911 04:53, 12 January 2015 (UTC)

Protection

Is it really worth putting up a full protection for this page, I know its because of an user making bad and presumptive edits, but shouldn't we wait until a preview like a magazine reveals the episode number (I think an earlier post mentioned it to be XY065 or something) StephenWalker97 (talk) 19:11, 13 January 2015 (UTC)

I gave users a chance to edit this page, but a few users are really impatient, thus forcing me to fully protect this page.--ForceFire 02:58, 14 January 2015 (UTC)
Fair enough, I didn't know that speculation was that bad on pages with future spoilers, but I see what you're saying StephenWalker97 (talk) 17:02, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

{Outdent] I'm going to suggest that protection now be disabled on a trial run. Having full protection prohibits productive work on the page. I do agree that speculation should be restrained, however, and can also keep an eye here if I see anything not allowed. CycloneGU (talk) 19:48, 28 January 2015 (UTC)

XY 061 Preview Confirms Evolution?

We have a confirmation of evolution into Sliggoo. Seeing the preview, it shows Goomy seemingly evolving into Sliggoo at some point during the episode. I know we usually wait until the airing of the episode, but I thought I could mention it. Was I right? --Pokemon26 (talk) 03:48, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Yes, the preview does show it starting to evolve. However, on this site we do not mention it until the event has happened. --HoennMaster 08:27, 14 February 2015 (UTC)

Evidence of final evolution

There has been evidence of Sliggoo evolving into Goodra prior to or during Ash's Gym battle with Clemont, so once the necessary information has been added, could you please protect this page again? ?????? 16:41, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

I agree, I saw the evidence, and since you already protected Luxio and Fennekin's pages, you should protect this one too. MrSpheal 17:29, 19 February 2015 (UTC)

XY065 preview and page Confirms Evolution?

Since Goodra is set to debut in XY065, you should protect Sliggoo's page and it should say "This article has been protected due to evidence that the subject of this article may evolve in XY065. It will be unprotected when XY065 airs." - - unsigned comment from liamisgreat (talkcontribs)

That Goodra is actually evolution of Ash's Sliggoo. Information with hidden message was added. Since the protected prohibited new user's edit, let me do it for the admins. Sorry for arrogation. KyleRGiggs 15:21, 24 February 2015 (UTC)
Unless users are continuously adding the information to the page, I have no need to fully protect the page until the week before XY065 airs.--ForceFire 15:22, 24 February 2015 (UTC)

Goomy's VA in the Dub

I wonder who voiced Goomy in the English version?--JasonL 17:19, 21 March 2015 (UTC)JasonL (Talk)

We don't really know. After all,, the episode just aired in the US today. There is no confirmation of who actually voiced Goomy in the dub, nor do we have any source that tells us. We should hold off on this until some official source confirms who voiced Goomy in the dub. ScraftyIsTheBest (talk) 17:36, 21 March 2015 (UTC)

Okay. But since its article page is locked, guess we won't know for sure.--JasonL 14:18, 23 March 2015 (UTC) JasonL (Talk)

I notice that voice actor is currently unknown, thought we knew it was Tom Wayland- unsigned comment from BigDocFan (talkcontribs)

The person who added it cited the dub discussion thread, where a post claimed Wayland confirmed it in a video. But there wasn't a link to said video. I've contacted the poster to see if they have one. glikglak

Goodra's Final Image

Since I am pretty sure this page will never change again later on I would like to ask directly if we couldn't better do a picture of Goodra which shows a bit more of its character? I found this picture, which is about 1 second after the current picture, which shows much more of its character, that still has that good old goomy character. I found this image, I can't find it in a higher res atm. And the current picture I see is exactly the same as I saw on character biography on serebii, but that could be a coincidence. sje8JMw.jpg karstvgl 13:13, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Will Goodra be released

Have any of you been on Serebii anime spoilers and saw the clip for future episodes and it wasn't in the bio for the movie as well ? - unsigned comment from Pikastar (talkcontribs)

We don't know. It's possible, but this isn't the place for speculation. Ataro (talk) 18:07, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

This is Ash's second pseudo legendary

He has a Gible, but it IS his first fully evolved pseudo legendary.--Scorcher9009 (talk) 23:27, 26 March 2015 (UTC)

Gible is not a pseudo-Legend, it evolves into one. Ataro (talk) 23:30, 26 March 2015 (UTC)
Pseudo-Legendaries are only the final stage of evolution (the name is a nod to their high Stats), although Gible becomes a Pseudo, the first and second stage is not a Pseudo-Legendary Azure/ChromeVoid42 (talk) 14:06, 27 March 2015 (UTC)

Protection

Should this be protected? Based on the episode titles it might leave? - unsigned comment from Pikastar (talkcontribs)

Unless users are continuously adding that it will be released, I see no need to protect the page until the week before XY070 airs.--ForceFire 03:58, 28 March 2015 (UTC)
I'd at least want this page closely monitored; XY070 was recently protected. - Chosen of Mana 20:08, 29 March 2015 (UTC)
XY070 was move protected, a standard practice for episode articles. Nonetheless, the page will be closely monitored. --Pokemaster97 20:36, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

Hydration

Is it noteworthy that Goodra is Ash's first Kalos Pokemon to activate its ability? --Benayla (talk) 03:17, 10 April 2015 (UTC)

I would say yes, but it would be better to word it as something like "Goodra is Ash's only Kalos Pokémon to have its Ability confirmed." That way, if another one has its Ability revealed, we can remove it, because being the first isn't always very notable. AGGRON989 02:58, 11 April 2015 (UTC)
My edits always got reverted. Well. I must apologize for always forgetting to mention it is only Ash's Pokemon, not Pokemon of all characters. However, Force Fire said "If it's the only one with a confirmed ability, this is kind of expected." I would say - What is the Ability of Pikachu? Raymond 21:21, 30 April 2015 (UTC)
It's just not notable. Ash's only Kalos Pokémon? If it's his only Kalos mon with a confirmed ability, it's kind of expected (and you've already excluding Pikachu by specifically stating Kalos Pokémon. Only one besides Pikachu to use its ability in XY? Too specific, and Pikachu technically hasn't activated his ability in XY (since you're specifically saying the XY series, not the whole anime), so the "besides Pikachu" note is invalid.--ForceFire 04:21, 1 May 2015 (UTC)

Protection 3

think we can undo the protection since no evidence of goodra leaving - unsigned comment from Pikastar (talkcontribs)

can we add the protection now that we know it's going to be gone - unsigned comment from Pikastar (talkcontribs)

Roaring All-Stars

I noticed that Goodra is missing in the new ending Roaring All-Stars. Don't tell me that Ash is gonna release him in XY070? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 13:05, 16 April 2015 (UTC)

We don't know if Goodra would be released. For all we know, Goodra was probably left out on purpose or it could have been an error. PattyMan 01:33, 18 April 2015 (UTC)
I hope so. It would be a real shame for Ash to give up a Pokémon that is a real powerhouse in his party, especially one he worked hard on to make stronger. --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 16:08, 18 April 2015 (UTC)

Comparison to Butterfree

There is a part in the trivia "They were both on Ash's team during two of his Gym battles..." (refering to similarities with itself and Butterfree), Butterfree was on Ash's team for the first three badges in Kanto, not two. I can't change it - unsigned comment from Masser (talkcontribs)

Checked to make sure, and Butterfree was indeed with him when he got three badges. Will remove that portion of that trivia point. Berrenta (talk) 21:57, 4 May 2015 (UTC)

Is this trivia worthy?

Is it trivia worthy to mention that out of all of the Pokémon that Ash released, Goodra's the only one that has one type instead of two? --PKMNAdventurer (talk) 18:08, 23 May 2015 (UTC)

Is this trivia worthy?

Goodra is Ash only pokemon that was undefeated, (never lose any battle) - unsigned comment from Makarov5 (talkcontribs)

Primeape has some news for you, and Noibat since it's yet to battle, also tag your comments Azure/ChromeVoid42 (talk) 20:55, 3 July 2015 (UTC)

Is this trivia worthy?

All Ash's Dragon type pokemon was caught without battling Gible, Goomy, Noibat willingly follow Ash after he asked them Is this trivia worthy? - unsigned comment from Makarov5 (talkcontribs)

No. Three out of three makes it unnotable. ☆The Solar Dragon☆ 21:23, 24 August 2015 (UTC)

Goodra's future appearance

Are we actually allowed to put in that Goodra was set to appear in XY123 because it kept on going into a loop of being added and deleted of nearly the same thing according to the edit history of this page? PattyMan 20:25, 3 June 2016 (UTC)

I know we generally add to general Pokémon articles that "so-and-so will appear in this episode" if we know for a fact that that is indeed the case, so I would assume the same would hold true for more specific Pokémon, but I've been wrong before. - unsigned comment from Missingno. Master (talkcontribs) 21:15, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
Ok. PattyMan 22:30, 3 June 2016 (UTC)
According to repeated edit summaries, apparently we do it for humans but not for Pokémon. But for some reason people keep adding it anyway. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 04:35, 4 June 2016 (UTC)

Worthy Trivia

Goodra hasn't been in Movie 19 if I recall correctly. We can write that Goodra is only Ash's Kalos Pokemon to not appera in a movie ?

--Tekniknaldo1 (talk) 15:17, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

Ash's Kalos Pokémon are too small a group for that trivia point to be notable. Additionally, the movie was most likely produced while Goodra was not in Ash's possession, so it's understandable why it was absent. --Pokemaster97 20:48, 31 July 2016 (UTC)

Released trivia?

Since we're counting Goodra as "with someone else" on Ash's page and template, like Squirtle, shouldn't the trivia about it being released be removed? Because if it's just "with someone else", then it's no different from Squirtle or Gliscor coming back... Nutter Butter (talk) 03:16, 23 October 2016 (UTC)

Question

when goodra returned to the wetlands why did it say in the xyz section that was eturned to the wetlands, can be called upon at any time - unsigned comment from Pikastar (talkcontribs)

Because it most likely can be, since there's nothing stopping Ash from using it like he uses his other old Pokemon. Playerking95 (talk) 19:51, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
Well if that is the case why can't it be in a section called other even though it went home it can be droven by kenan to the lab when ash needs it right?--Pikastar (talk) 04:29, 31 October 2016 (UTC)

concern

Question Playerking95 (talk) even though you said there was nothing stopping Ash from using it like he uses his other old Pokemon. It is still in the release section shouldn't you move it to in training like squirtle and primeape or put in other section. The reason i am asking this is because on pokemon wiki and serebii they say goodra is with someonne else and I think Bulbapedia is a fandom website but want to know which is correct is all no offense--Pikastar (talk) 06:41, 28 October 2016 (UTC)Pikastar

Bulbapedia cannot rely on other fan websites as sources. We should not be changing our content simply to match some other website's. Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 06:51, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
It's not in the same sense as Primeape or Squirtle, they were left with other people to train/get stronger. Goodra went home, not to Keagan,--ForceFire 07:00, 28 October 2016 (UTC)
I know it went home but who know ash might need goodra's help again someday I mean he can not always count on charizard, Pikachu, or future alola pokemon he caches for serious battles. he can call kenanna and have it go to sycamore's lab and transport it is what i meant--Pikastar (talk) 05:18, 1 November 2016 (UTC)
That's speculation. If you want to speculate on whether Goodra will return, go to the forums.--ForceFire 05:23, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Another question

Since Goodra is still ash's in a way can we put the article with someone else --Pikastar (talk) 20:15, 30 October 2016 (UTC)Pikastar

Goodra is not with anyone. Goodra returned home.--ForceFire 03:00, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
I know it went home but isn't there a way it could return to ash after the first time when he released it he said he see it again and it then in the kalos league and when it went home ash said well meet again - unsigned comment from Pikastar (talkcontribs)
Don't create a new section, that's not how you respond to a comment. Ash said he'd return for Pidgeot (granted, it was dub added) snd said he'd meet a ton of CotDs. Saying "We will meet again" means nothing.--ForceFire 03:23, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
I know that Ash said he he meet Pidgeot again someday and a lot of COTDs but you forgot in the dub he said he see goodra again and he did so he actually kept a promise and if you watch the japanese version he also said he meet goodra again so what I am saying is that even though it went home and it isn't like squirtle and primeape. we can put the article in other section--Pikastar (talk) 04:27, 31 October 2016 (UTC)Pikastar
He met Goodra again within the same series/region, so it's expected in a way. We're not going to create an "other" section, it's clear that Goodra returned home.--ForceFire 04:43, 31 October 2016 (UTC)
I know it went home but maybe it can return as i said in my last post ash said that they would meet again and you said that it means nothing--Pikastar (talk) 05:15, 1 November 2016 (UTC)

Qualification for release?

--Dman dustin (talk) 18:09, 2 October 2017 (UTC)
