Teleport?

I found teleport in the attack list, can someone confirm this? This doesn't make any sense, because Arcanine shouldn't be able to teleport unless it was teported by some other Pokémon. Well, its fast speed might make it look like it's teleporting, but it still doesn't make any sense. TheBlazikenMaster 12:50, 3 November 2007 (UTC)

In {{m|Teleport)) article, it says Arcanine can somehow learn Teleport using a TM... but I don't suppose that's a real confirmation... -File:Ani026MS.gifMudkipchanFile:Ani392MS.gif
It's really, really fast. Which makes as much sense as Dodrio's jumping qualifying it for Fly. --FabuVinny |Talk Page| 19:19, 13 June 2008 (UTC)

That, and the move can be learned by TM in the first generation. I remember randomly trying to teach the move once when I got it.... Tsum 04:05, 29 May 2009 (UTC)

Thunder Fang

Can Arcanine learn Thunder Fang? Some other people have said it on other websites, but I cant confirm it (No DS on me) and neither Serebii nor Bulbapedia have it listed. -Link6491

Move tutor. Get a Heart Scale and go to the move tutor in Pastoria. Tina δ 20:19, 30 December 2007 (UTC)

Can someone add that? I am unsure of how to. -Link6491

It goes for many Pokémon, like Medicham and the elemental punches and stuff. Tina δ 17:40, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
I just bred a Growlithe (from an Arcanine), and evolved it straight into an Arcanine, which learned Thunder Fang, Fire Fang, and Odor Sleuth. Unless this is a glitch, it seems that it can learn Thunder Fang. File:Ani444MS.gif~Kenn File:Ani444MS.gif 17:48, 31 December 2007 (UTC)
Arcanine can definitely learn Thunder Fang. It learns the move at Lv.1. SharKing 21:33, 12 September 2008 (UTC)SharKing

New Picture

Hey guys. In the anime apearances theres that picture from "On Cloud Arcanine". That pictures not very good in my opinion and if I find a better one, can I change it? Hatsumi 15:40, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Hatsumi

Well, I put it up there. I hope it looks OK Hatsumi 15:57, 26 May 2008 (UTC)Hatsumi

Legendary

This article says "Because of its high stats, its species, and the fact that it was illustrated in an ancient slab along with the legendary birds in the second episode, it can be assumed that Arcanine was originally planned to be part of the legendary trio in first generation games; possibly even the birds' trio master." I just don't like that "it can be assumed". I don't think that is nearly enough evidence for it to be "assumed". Maybe "it is possible that", but I don't agree that it can be "assumed". I mean, the fact that Dragonite has higher total base stats than it, isn't that quite major evidence that it was never going to be legendary? And I think it was only featured on that slab because its species name is "Legendary", and we know well that species names mean nothing. For example, we don't say that Slowbro has anything to do with a crab because it is a "Hermit Crab" pokemon. I admit that this is evidence for it possibly being a legendary, but I really don't think it can be "assumed". Sorry to be really specific about this, but I think a one word change would actually make a fairly major difference.Gastly's mama 15:09, 7 December 2008 (UTC)

I think it has Legendary status because of all the supposed stories on it. I believe in the Anime they made references to its "supposed" legendary speed and what not. Thats really all I can offer. Xanhawk

Trivia: Slaking/Arcanine Average Base Stat Ranking

Arcanine (Pokémon)'s Trivia section: "Arcanine has the second-highest base stat average of any non-legendary and non-pseudo-legendary Pokémon, next to Slaking."

Slaking (Pokémon)'s Trivia section: "Slaking has the second highest base stat average of any non-legendary Pokémon."

List of Pokémon by base stats's Table (condensed to relevant non-legendaries):

Pokemon Base Average

Slaking 111.67

Tyranitar 100.00

Metagross 100.00

Dragonite 100.00

Salamence 100.00

Garchomp 100.00

Arcanine 92.50

There are a number of issues with this. Firstly and most obviously is that these trivia notes contradict each other. Second is that, arguably, neither of these are true in the first place. Slaking is #1, not #2, and Arcanine is #6 (disregarding "and non-pseudo-legendary Pokémon" in the trivia note) behind Garchomp, Salamence, Dragonite, Metagross, Tryanitar and Slaking but for one thing; Arcanine is a legendary pokemon according to it's pokedex entry, thus #6 should be Togekiss (90.83) given legendaries are excluded and if you also exclude the pseudo-legendaries, #2. (note that when I started writing this I had missed the non-pseudo-legendary part of Arcanine's trivia point but that does not invalidate my point that the trivia regarding to base averages needs to be refined and uniform) --Yasamito 05:30, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

I think I fixed it. — THE TROM — 07:16, 19 March 2009 (UTC)

This IS NOT legendary. Blade Bro.
