Mid-teens? I thought he was maybe all of twelve. {{unsigned|Blackjack Gabbiani}}

Really?  He looked a couple years older than Ash in the anime, by two or three.  But age is so hard to measure in Pokemon anyways.  The kids look older than they should, and the adults tend to look younger than they should.  It's just an opinion, though.  *shrugs*  He does look around 15 in the manga, though.

== Macho Brace?? ==
Uhh... that doesn't seem quite right.  Is there anything, anywhere that actually says that AJ's training equipment was the anime's version of the Macho Brace? That item wasn't even introduced until the 3rd generation... so unless they had a 3rd-gen episode with the same equipment referred to by that name, it seems like kind of a weird assumption to label AJ's equipment as a Macho Brace here. : After looking at screenshots and the Macho Brace's sprite, it seems like they do look ''kinda'' similar but it's not an exact match (the Macho Brace sprite looks like an inflexible weight that would be worn on a single leg or arm, while AJ's devices strap onto the entire body and provide resistance against all four limbs at once.)  Maybe the similarity should be mentioned but outright stating that AJ put Macho Braces on his Pokémon seems a bit too fan-assumptiony to me. Mid-teens?

Mid-teens? I thought he was maybe all of twelve. - unsigned comment from Blackjack Gabbiani (talkcontribs)

French dub

I just watched the episode again, in the French dub and when A.J. explains the way he trains his pokémon, in it he mentions that he catches wild pokemon and trains them...

Makes one wonder how else one catches pokemon then, heh. Also to be noted in the early episodes, Ash catches very few pokemon by actual combat... --Red! 19:35, 6 April 2006 (CDT)

Macho Brace??

Uhh... that doesn't seem quite right. After looking at screenshots and the Macho Brace's sprite, it seems like they do look kinda similar but it's not an exact match (the Macho Brace sprite looks like an inflexible weight that would be worn on a single leg or arm, while AJ's devices strap onto the entire body and provide resistance against all four limbs at once.) Maybe the similarity should be mentioned but outright stating that AJ put Macho Braces on his Pokémon seems a bit too fan-assumptiony to me. FnrrfYgmSchnish (talk) 18:52, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
The EP008 article calls them "strength intensifiers", so I've changed it to that. Thanks for pointing it out! Pumpkinking0192 (talk) 19:03, 28 January 2017 (UTC)
