Takumi Akabane is a research and development director at Creatures, Inc. and has been a part of the company since at least 1994, when he was listed as a chief debugger on the game EarthBound. He is credited with creating the Pokémon Trading Card Game alongside Kouichi Ooyama and Akihiko Miura, and now acts as its creative director.
Games
Takumi is listed as a director on the e-Reader titles Kingler's Day and Machop at Work, as well as being a card-e supervisor on Pokémon Colosseum. He is credited in the Pokémon Trading Card Game for Game Boy Color, and has a cameo appearance as Club Master Akabane (Club Master Ken in the English version of the game).
In the TCG
As creative director of the Pokémon Trading Card Game, he oversees the entire team that handles a wide variety of game-related activities, including developing specific product concepts, developing and implementing strategic game mechanics, creating artwork, and managing events.
