Works well if it is the same type as the move used by the last Pokémon.

Synchronoise (Japanese: シンクロノイズ Synchro Noise) is a damage-dealing Psychic-type move introduced in Generation V.

Effect

Generation V

Synchronoise damages all adjacent Pokémon that share at least one type with the user. If the user has multiple types, any Pokémon that has any of those types will be damaged.

Generation VI

Synchronoise's power changed from 70 to 120, and its PP changed from 15 to 10.

Synchronoise can be used as part of a Contest Spectacular combination, with the user gaining an extra three appeal points if Reflect Type was used in the prior turn.

Generation VII

Synchronoise will never be effective if the user has no types (i.e. if a pure Fire type uses Burn Up), even if an adjacent Pokémon also has no types.

Generation VIII onwards

Synchronoise cannot be selected in a battle.

Trivia

  • The English name of this move is a combination of the English words synchronize and noise, of which the Japanese and Korean names are transliterations. The German, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish names translate it instead.
  • Due to the nature of this move and the Dark type's immunity to Psychic-type moves, pure Dark-type Pokémon (of which only Umbreon can naturally know the move) cannot use this move successfully under normal circumstances.
  • Despite having "noise" in its name, Synchronoise is not a sound-based move.
