Swalot (Japanese: マルノーム Marunoom) is a Poison-type Pokémon.

Biology

Physiology

Swalot is a tall, purple, blob-like Pokémon. It has a single row of black rhombuses running across what would be its mid-section. Swalot's hands have three fingers instead of two. Swalot has red, beady eyes and yellow whiskers.

Gender differences

A female Swalot has shorter whiskers then a male.

Special abilities

Swalot's large, cavernous mouth can easily gulp down a car tire. Its stomach acid can dissolve virtually anything.

Like most fully evolved Pokémon, Swalot can use Hyper Beam and Giga Impact.

Trivia

Origin

Name origin

Swalot's name is possibly a shortening of swallow a lot, as in eating or drinking a large amount. Its Japanese name is based on 丸呑み marunomi, swallowing whole and 飲み込む nomikomu, to gulp down.
