Release information
This card was released as a Trainer card with artwork by Keiji Kinebuchi in the Base Set expansion, first released in the Japanese Expansion Pack. Before the TCG was officially released in North America, prototype Pokémon Leagues were given the Trainer Deck A, which included this card. The cards in this deck all have a red border and "Trainer Deck A" printed on the back. It was later reprinted in the Base Set 2, as well as the Japanese Kuchiba City Gym Deck.
Super Potion was later released as an Item card with an updated effect and new artwork by 5ban Graphics in the XY expansion, first released in the Japanese Collection Y. It was reprinted as a retro card in the Evolutions expansion, first released in the Japanese Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary subset, featuring the same artwork as the original print and an updated card template reminiscent of the Original Series layout.
