Sunny Day is a non-damaging Fire-type move introduced in Generation II.

Effect

Generation II onwards

When this move is used the sunlight will brighten on the field. This effect will last for 5 turns. This clears any other weather effect.

While Sunny Day is in effect the base power of Fire-type moves will be increased by 50% and the base power of Water-type moves will be decreased by 50%. In addition to this, the moves Synthesis, Morning Sun and Moonlight will recover 66% of the user's max HP, and SolarBeam will not require a turn to charge.

In the anime

Pokémon

Sunkern. Its eyes has glowing fire and releases white beam of light.

Budew. Not seen.

Roselia. Roselia's hands turn white. It then puts its hands in the air and a beam of light is released from each hand and goes to the sun.

Roserade. Same as Roselia.
