Sunkern (Japanese: ヒマナッツ Himanuts) is a Grass-type Pokémon.

Sunkern try to minimize movement to conserve the nutrients they have stored in their bodies for evolution. They will not eat, subsisting only on morning dew.

Name origin

Sunkern's name is a combination of sunflower and kernel. Its Japanese name may be a combination of 向日葵 himawari, sunflower, and nuts.

As its names indicate, it is based on a sunflower seed.
