Subway Boss Ingo (Japanese: サブウェイマスターノボリ Subway Master Nobori) is one of the leaders of the Battle Subway in , along with his brother, Emmet. In Legends: Arceus, Ingo is the warden tasked with watching over a special Sneasler.

In the games
In the core series games
Ingo can be battled in a Single Battle on the Single and Super Single lines and with Subway Boss in a Tag Battle on the Multi and Super Multi lines. He uses the same teams in both and .
In , Ingo can be battled in a Single Battle on the Battle Subway's Single Train once the player has acquired a 20 win streak, and on the Super Single Train once the player has acquired a 48 win streak. He can also be battled alongside his brother Emmet in a Multi Battle on the Multi Train once the player has acquired a 20 win streak, and on the Super Multi Train once the player has acquired a 48 win streak. His teams are identical in both pairs of games. In Black 2 and White 2 only, the brothers can also be faced in a one-time Multi Battle in front of the Gear Station.

In Legends: Arceus, Ingo appears as one of the wardens of the Pearl Clan, having been transported back in time to the Hisui region and lost most of his memories in the process. He escorts the player through the Coronet Highlands when they first visit the area, telling them about his faint memories of Chandelure and Emmet, as well as battling the player and granting them the ability to summon Sneasler to climb tall rocky walls. After regaining some more of his memories, he tells Adaman and Melli about how Pokémon Trainers in the future cooperate with Pokémon. After Lord Electrode has been calmed, he starts managing the training grounds in Jubilife Village. When spoken to, he allows the player to choose one of certain characters to battle, including himself.

Ingo and his brother Emmet are markedly similar. They are both composed and precise in manner, important attributes to his role as one of the Subway Bosses. This also extends into Ingo's battle strategy. He often takes the lead, creating an opening for Emmet to attack.

Ingo debuts in Growing Pains. He, along with his brother Emmet, is first seen walking around Gear Station. They are later properly introduced as the Subway Bosses for the newly created Battle Subway to Black and White. According to the Mayor of Nimbasa City, they were recruited by him because of their strength. White later decides to take part in a test run of the Battle Subway, which she uses as a way to learn how to become a Trainer.

Later, when White is invited to take part in the Battle Subway, she boards the train with the Subway Bosses in order to get stronger. Because of their odd, almost robotic behavior, White seems to be afraid of them.
As the three travel, White is pitted against Virtual Trainers while the twins evaluate her progress. Emmet's love of battling and impatience leads to him constantly ask White to win 20 consecutive battles so that they can have a battle. This behavior scares White, which forces Ingo to repeatedly apprehend his brother and drag him away.

Sometime later, the train arrives at Anville Town, the final stop. At this point, White's skills have improved to the point where she can battle one of the Subway Bosses. Ingo has a battle with White while Emmet referees. The battle ends in a tie, much to Ingo's frustration. After stepping out for a bit, White returns with Bianca, a friend of hers. White asks the twins to take her to Castelia City so that she can help Bianca with her troubles. Afterward, White returns to continue her training.

After more traveling, White finishes her training and goes her separate ways from the Subway Bosses.

Trivia
* In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Ingo is the only warden or clan member who keeps his Pokémon partners in Poké Balls as opposed to having them roam free.
** He is also the only non-player character to use alpha Pokémon as part of his team.
** He is also the only NPC to use an Unown outside of a battle facility, using one in the Path of Solitude.
* Similar to Anabel, Ingo debuted as a battle facility leaders and was later transported to another region, losing most of his memories in the process.
* Ingo's Japanese name, Nobori, literally means "up-train", but is also close to the word yamanobori, which means "mountain-climbing". His role in Pokémon Legends: Arceus as the warden of Sneasler, a mountain-climbing Pokémon, may be a reference to this.

Subway Boss Ingo (Japanese: サブウェイマスターノボリ Subway Master Nobori) is one of the leaders of the Battle Subway in Black, White, Black 2, and White 2, along with his brother, Emmet. In Legends: Arceus, Ingo is the warden tasked with watching over a special Sneasler.

In the core series games

In Black, White, Black 2, and White 2, Ingo can be battled in a Single Battle on the Battle Subway's Single Train once the player has acquired a 20 win streak, and on the Super Single Train once the player has acquired a 48 win streak.

He escorts the player through the Coronet Highlands when they first visit the area, telling them about his faint memories of his partner Pokémon and Emmet, as well as battling the player and granting them the ability to summon Sneasler to climb tall rocky walls.

Ingo in the anime

Ingo is an old acquaintance of Cilan’s, having first met at a rail enthusiasts convention. Ingo is referred to as "big brother" by Emmet in the Japanese version of the anime, indicating that he is the older twin.

Ingo debuted at the end of Beheeyem, Duosion, and the Dream Thief! along with Emmet, where they detected that Team Rocket was tampering with the track switches. In The Beartic Mountain Feud!, the pair went in search of what or who was causing these disturbances and they caught a glimpse of two figures—Jessie and James—before they disappeared into the shadows.

In Crisis from the Underground Up! and Battle for the Underground!, Ingo and his brother met Ash, Cilan, and Iris as the train they were riding had stopped. After Pokémon had been stolen from the Pokémon Center, Ingo and Emmet teamed up with the group to coordinate a counter strategy to stop Team Rocket and retrieve all the stolen Pokémon.

In Lost at the Stamp Rally!, Ingo and his brother helped a young girl, Erina, locate her lost Axew. Afterwards, they rewarded Ash and Cilan's good deed by having a Tag Battle against them. Despite Ash and Cilan pushing their hardest, they were finally defeated when Ingo's Chandelure stopped their Pokémon with Psychic, so that Emmet's Eelektross could finish them off with Thunderbolt.

Ingo, along with Emmet, appeared in A Surface to Air Tag Battle Team! as part of a fantasy made up by Soren, who boasted that both he and his brother Rocko had beaten the Subway Bosses in a Tag Battle. However, this claim was quickly disproved by Rocko.

Ingo appeared in a cameo in the ending credits of Genesect and the Legend Awakened, and in Cilan's flashback in Survival of the Striaton Gym!.

Pokémon Journeys: The Series

Ingo reappeared in Must Be Our Heroes and the Witch!, alongside Emmet as a fantasy caused by a wild Hatterene. At the end of the episode, Cilan revealed he planned to attend an event held by the brothers.

Character

Ingo and his brother Emmet are markedly similar. They are both composed and precise in manner, important attributes to his role as one of the Subway Bosses. This also extends into Ingo's battle strategy. He often takes the lead, creating an opening for Emmet to attack.

Pokémon

Ingo's Chandelure
Chandelure
Chandelure was used to aid in retrieving the stolen Pokémon from Team Rocket in Battle For The Underground!.

It appeared again in Lost at the Stamp Rally! alongside Emmet's Eelektross in a Tag Battle against Cilan and Ash. While Eelektross was bearing the brunt of the attacks, Chandelure used Smog to stop Pansage from firing a Solar Beam. Ingo and Emmet then took charge of the match, ultimately winning.

It also appeared in a fantasy in A Surface to Air Tag Battle Team!, and in a flashback in Survival of the Striaton Gym!.

Chandelure's known moves are Psychic, Will-O-Wisp, and Smog.

Ingo in Pokémon Adventures

Ingo debuts in Growing Pains. He, along with his brother Emmet, is first seen walking around Gear Station. They are later properly introduced as the Subway Bosses for the newly created Battle Subway to Black and White. According to the Mayor of Nimbasa City, they were recruited by him because of their strength. White later decides to take part in a test run of the Battle Subway, which she uses as a way to learn how to become a Trainer.

Pokémon

Ingo's Klinklang
Klinklang
Klinklang is Ingo's only known Pokémon. It was first seen next to Ingo while White was testing the Battle Subway. During Ingo's battle against White, Klinklang was paired up against White's Servine. By jamming its minigears with leaves, White gained an opening to attack. However, when Servine attacks, both Pokémon are knocked out from the attack, making the battle a tie.

None of Klinklang's moves are known and its Ability is Plus.

Trivia

 • In Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Ingo is the only warden or clan member who keeps his Pokémon partners in Poké Balls as opposed to having them roam free.
 • Similar to Anabel, Ingo debuted as a battle facility leader and was later transported to another region, losing most of his memories in the process.
 • Ingo's Japanese name, Nobori, literally means "up-train", but is also close to the word yamanobori, which means "mountain-climbing". His role in Pokémon Legends: Arceus as the warden of Sneasler, a mountain-climbing Pokémon, may be a reference to this.
