The Strength V Starter Deck is a 60-card randomized deck released for the Pokémon Trading Card Game in Asian territories outside Japan and South Korea.
Information
The deck was first released in Taiwan and Hong Kong on October 8, 2021 alongside the localization of Fusion Arts and was followed by a similar launch in Indonesia on January 21, 2022. It did not see release in Thailand until February 25, 2022. The deck contains a number of cards previously not available in their respective regions as well as reprints from the dual Skyscraping Perfection and Blue Sky Stream expansion and the Fusion Arts expansion. Cards that can be found in the deck and other products can be differentiated by their collection number and set symbol; those from the deck also lack rarity symbols and Holofoil patterns.
The Strength V Starter Deck is constructed of three main groups. The first and second group tend to center on a particular type and are accompanied by fixed quantities of supporting basic Energy cards. There are 12 possible varieties of the first group, each of which contains 28 cards; the second group has 7 possible varieties each comprising 16 cards. The cards within each variety are always the same, though any combination of the two groups can be enclosed. The third group contains 16 Trainer cards, 11 of which are the same in every deck. The remaining five are randomly assigned from three different pools of cards. Each deck comes packaged with a rulesheet and a cardboard sheet containing damage counters and status markers.
