Stephanie's father is a one-time character who appeared in the episode Having a Wailord of a Time. He is the father of the starting Trainer Stephanie.
In the episode, he went with his daughter to the Pokémon Center because she wanted choose her starter Pokémon. After his daughter chose Mudkip, the Treecko attracted his attention and awe. Because of this, he asked Nurse Joy if he could have the Treecko for his own starter. Nurse Joy allowed him to be its Trainer, saying it's never too late to start.
