Static (Japanese: せいでんき Static Electricity) is an Ability introduced in Generation III. Fourteen Pokémon can have this Ability, all of which are Electric types.
Effect
In battle
When Pokémon with this Ability are hit by a move that makes contact, there is a 30% chance that the attacking foe will become paralyzed. This can affect Ground-type Pokémon.
Outside of battle
From Pokémon Emerald onward, having a Pokémon with this Ability at the front of the player's party also increases the chances of finding Electric-type Pokémon in the area by 50%.
