In Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, the island is visited as part of the storyline. At Southern Island, the player encounters CourtneyOR/MattAS and a Team Magma GruntOR/Team Aqua GruntAS, who battle the player in a Multi Battle.
