Release information

This card was released as a promotional card made available through the Pokémon League in August 2002 with English exclusive artwork. In Japan, it was first released as part of the Extended Sheet 1 of the Vending Machine cards. It was later reprinted in the Quick Starter Gift Set. This card's Japanese illustrator; Keita Takahashi, was one of those chosen to have their artwork featured on a card as part of the CoroCoro illustration competition in late 1997. Wizards of the Coast also ran an illustration competition for the English version of the card, the chosen image being the work of Craig Turvey.
