Red, Green & Blue chapter

Red first met Snor in Wake Up—You’re Snorlax!, where he was blocking the Route 12 which was being used for a bike race. Red managed to wake Snorlax up with some Beedrill honey that had dripped onto Saur. After this Snorlax followed Red all the way to the goal of the race, where he was then caught by him.

In Golly, Golem!, Snor is used as Red's first Pokémon against Giovanni. Snor makes the first attack, but Giovanni uses his speed against him by having Nidoqueen Counter Snor's attack, before flinging the heavy Pokémon through the wall and out of the Gym. As Giovanni switches to Golem, Red decides to have the ricocheting Pokémon bounce its way out of the Gym so Snor can attack, but Giovanni makes use of Snor's Headbutt shattering Golem to pummel Snor with Rock Throw, and faint it with Explosion.

In A Charizard...and a Champion, Red uses Snor against Blue Charizard in the Pokémon League finals, though Blue immediately switches in and sends out Machamp. Through its four arms he blocks Snor's limbs and prevents him from attacking. Machamp then easily lifts Snor with his four arms, before spinning him about to render Snor dizzy and slamming him onto the floor. After Snor hits the ground Red quietly tells Snor to use Harden in anticipation of Machamp's next attack. However, Machamp instead attacks the ground, using the shattered debris as a lever to catapult Snor into the air and out of the battlefield. Just as Snor is about to be disqualified for going out of bounds he plummets from mid-air and crushes Machamp with a Double-Edge and Toxic combo. Realizing Snor has taken heavy damage he recalls him.

Gold, Silver, & Crystal chapter

In Forretress of Solitude, Snor is used in Red's test to become Viridian City's Gym Leader. Red starts off having Snor use Belly Drum, which causes the Forretress's Spikes to rebound and hit Forretress. Snor follows up with a Mega Punch, knocking it out. next opponent is an Azumarill, who promptly uses Whirlpool, surrounding Red and Snor. Snor uses Rest while inside it and quickly attacks with Mega Kick when Whirlpool subsides, knocking Azumarill out.

FireRed & LeafGreen chapter

In Red and Blue Make Purple Opponents, Snor is used alongside Gyara in a double battle against Blue and his Golduck and Porygon2. Gyara starts the battle off with his Ability Intimidate, and Blue responds by having Golduck use Iron Tail and Porygon2 use Tri Attack on Red's Pokémon. Red then has Gyara counter attack with Body Slam on Porygon2, while Snor attacks Golduck with Strength. Gyara next uses Hyper Beam on Golduck, and Golduck uses Dig to hide and avoid further damage. Red counters by having Snor use Earthquake, dealing damage to Porygon2, twice the damage to Golduck due to him being underground, which causes him to faint, and Gyara being unaffected due to him being part Flying-type. Snor then goes up against Machamp, who proceeds to grab Snor's body and use Seismic Toss. Machamp follows up by rushing in front of Snor and and performing Low Kick, tripping Snor and sending him crashing into the ground, knocking him out.

Emerald chapter

In Epilogue, Snor was seen interacting with Emerald's Snorlax in the Battle Frontier following Guile Hideout's defeat. In the HeartGold & SoulSilver chapter, it was revealed that the two Snorlax had produced an Egg, which Gold had agreed to hatch.

Personality and Characteristics

Typical of his species Snor is very lazy, only responding to food when asleep. Red has often used Snor's huge size to his advantage to trap opponents. Snor is also a very powerful battler, being used in many of Red's important battles.
