Diamond & Pearl arc

Route 216 appeared in Disagreeable Graveler and Striking Out Snover, where Platinum was seen traveling through the route on her way to Lake Acuity. While skiing through the snow, she accidentally hit a wild Graveler, angering it and causing it to break her skiing equipment. Although she was able to get away, her light clothing in the cold weather caused her to fall unconscious in the snow. Thankfully, she was rescued by a girl with an Abomasnow and brought to recover at the Snowbound Lodge, where she both received appropriate winter clothes and learned that the girl who had rescued her was the Snowpoint City Gym Leader Candice. Upon leaving the Lodge, Platinum encountered Maylene, who was also en route to Snowpoint City, and joined her.
