Sing (Japanese: うたう Sing) is a non-damaging Normal-type move introduced in Generation I.

Effect

Generations I and II

Sing puts the target to sleep.

Generation III

Sing will not affect targets with Insomnia, Vital Spirit, or Soundproof as their Ability.

Generation VI

Sing will not affect targets with the Sweet Veil Ability, or their allies (including non-adjacent allies).

Jigglypuff uses Sing as its Up+B attack in the Super Smash Bros. series. The move puts all ground-bound users near Jigglypuff to sleep; it does not affect players in the air. The more damage the opponent has taken, the longer they sleep.
