KrazyShipping, the belief in romantic love between Meowth and Pikachu, was named for Krazy Kat, a comic strip from the early 20th century about a cat who was in love with a mouse, while the mouse hated the cat.
KrazyShipping is one of the more popular pairing involving actual Pokémon. Though Meowth, along with Jessie and James, is actively trying to capture Pikachu for Giovanni, there have been a few hints that he may harbour secret feelings for Pikachu. For example, in the episode Bound for Trouble!, Meowth and Pikachu are handcuffed together and lost by themselves. While Pikachu takes many opportunities to harass Meowth, Meowth actually tries to be nice to Pikachu.
In the as-yet undubbed episode Pikachu, Joining Team Rocket!?, Pikachu gets amnesia and is actually caught by the Rocket trio. In this episode, Meowth and Pikachu do get along quite well.
