AmourShipping(Japanese: サトセレ SatoSere) is the belief that Ash and Serena belong in a romantic relationship. The name AmourShipping comes from the word amour which is French for "love". The name was chosen because in the XY series, like the XY games, are set in the Kalos region which is based on France. The pairing is becoming popular because Serena has met Ash in a summer camp in Pallet Town when they were young children and the recurring hints that Serena gives in the anime, to the point that some of the fandom believes that AmourShipping is canon.

Serena's hints

When Serena saw Ash on TV jumping of the Prism Tower, she acts in a some what scared/worried way, although this is shown, she could be just worrying for a person in danger, for the TV camera never shows Ash's face until his is safely on the ground. After rescuing his Pikachu in the Lumiose Tower from a rampaging Garchomp, Serena noticed that this could be the same boy that she saw when she was a child, she was shown looking at the TV while saying "that boy, no it couldn't be".
At the end of the episode, she tells her Rhyhorn that something exciting is going to happen that could involve Ash, the scene is then followed up with her having a flashback of Ash as a young boy.
Upon arriving at Professor Sycamore's laboratory, and before choosing her starter Pokémon, Serena tells him that she is looking for the boy who was on the news. Her eyes light up when Sycamore identifies him as 'Ash'.
When Serena was walking down the steps in the city, she thought that she can't wait to see the look on his face when he sees her, this is then followed with her having a flashback of a young Ash extending his arm as if he was offering a hand, this flashback causes her to blush a little.
When she saw Ash battling, she is really happy to finally see him while he is battling Viola, that she was about to go talk to him not realising she was going to interrupt the battle, Alex then invites her to come watch from the side lines, witch she happily agrees to.
While Ash was battling, she had her hands clasped together. She was sad when just after Ash lose the battle, he ran past without seeing her.
After Serena returns Ash's backpack, she asks a question to him while her face was red, but was interrupted by the chime of the Pokemon Center bell.
When Ash was on the ground from the intense training, Serena walks up to Ash and hands him a towel to clean up.
In this episode, she asked alone to Ash if she remembers her when they met in the summer camp in Pallet Town. Also, through the entire Gym battle she was cheering for Ash to win way more than Clemont and Bonnie did.
When the group was having dinner, she glances at Ash for a while.

Ash's hints

When Ash meets Serena, he seemed sad about not seeing her when she watched him battle.
Ash thanks her when Serena gives a towel after the previous training with Alexa.
When Serena asked Ash if he remembers her, he has a puzzled look.
When Ash said that he doesn't remember meeting Serena before, she looks a little upset for him not remembering her. Also, when Ash wins the Gym Battle Ash thanks all of his friends for helping in defeating Viola, including Serena, even though she hasn't even directly took part in the training.
