Shigeru Miyamoto is a very famous video game creator, known for creating the Mario and Zelda series. He has also worked on Pokémon. His own series has also had a few crossovers with Pokémon.

Most notably in the Pokémon franchise, he pitched Capsule Monsters to the company. Whereas Hiroshi Yamauchi didn't listen to Satoshi Tajiri's ideas about it, Miyamoto's interest swayed him, and they produced it as Pokémon. He later worked as producer for Crystal, once again in Colosseum and as debug player in Red and Green. When Tajiri failed to get portable games of Capsule Monsters pitched by Nintendo, it was also he who pitched it into the company and six years later released it as Pokémon.

Also, his division has made two Pokémon games together with HAL Laboratory: Pokémon Stadium and Pokémon Stadium 2

Like Nintendo, HAL, Creatures, Game Freak, Shigesato Itoi, Intelligent Systems, Konami and Sega, he has also made several things in the Super Smash Bros. series, in with there also is several things from Pokémon. His creations are mainly from Super Mario, The Legend of Zelda, Yoshi and Pikmin.

Pokémon cameos

In his game Yoshi's Story, the stages Stage 2-3 and Stage 2-4, the stages is made out entirely out of newspaper clippings, the text Pikachu among others. So far, it has only been seen in one or two areas.

In another game called Mario Artist: Paint Studio, one of the official pictures shows somebody drawing a silhouette of Pikachu.

The anime character Shigeru is named after him.

In yet another game, Animal Crossing, one of the random items a villager may ask players to collect is Pokémon Pikachu (but the model is actually Pokémon Pikachu Color)

In the Zelda series, the Ocarina of Time-introduced item Keaton Mask bears a strong resemblance to Pikachu. It is mentioned in the game that Keaton "has been really popular lately", possibly a reference to Pikachu's popularity. The item returned in Majora's Mask, with introduced the Keaton, where the mask is based on in the Zelda universe. It bears a strong resemblance, but this time to both Ninetales and Pikachu. The mask has a cameo in Wind Waker.

Lastly, in Super Mario Galaxy, there is a Poké Ball-shaped planet in the Buoy Base Galaxy. Inside it is a Power Star, which is needed to finish the level, possibly a reference to the Poké Ball's importance in the Pokémon games.
