Shadow Bone (Japanese: シャドーボーン Shadow Bone) is a damage-dealing Ghost-type move introduced in Generation VII. It is one of the signature moves of Alolan Marowak.

Effect

Generation VII

Shadow Bone does damage and has a 20% chance of lowering the target's Defense stat by one stage.

Generation VIII

Pokémon Sword and Shield

In Versions 1.0 to 1.1.1 of Pokémon Sword and Shield, Shadow Bone could not be selected in a battle, as no Pokémon available in the game could learn it. Starting with Version 1.2.0, it can be selected and functions as it did in the previous generation.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl

Shadow Bone cannot be selected in a battle.

Marowak Alolan Marowak spins its bone, with a purple flame gathering around one of the ends and a blue aura briefly flashing inside the center. It then stops spinning and strikes the opponent with the bone, creating a burst of both purple and blue flames once it makes contact.
