Tri-Pass

The Tri-Pass (Japanese: トライパス Tri-Pass) is a Key Item featured in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. It allows the player to travel to the first three Sevii Islands.

Location and uses

The Tri-Pass is given to the player by Celio when they arrive at One Island's Pokémon Network Center on the ship with Bill. The pass allows the player to travel via the Seagallop Ferry between the first three islands in the Sevii Islands: One Island, Two Island, and Three Island. It is required by the player to complete the story that is set on the island. During this story, the player can only travel between these three islands. After completion, the player can travel to any one of the three from Vermilion City's port, and back again.

The Rainbow Pass (Japanese: レインボーパス Rainbow Pass) is a Key Item featured in Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen. It is the successor to the Tri-Pass, giving the player access to the remaining Sevii Islands, including the islands previously accessible. It features a rainbow-shape pattern on the card.

Location and uses

The Rainbow Pass is given to the player by Celio after being asked for the Sapphire at One Island. The pass allows the player to travel via the Seagallop Ferry to the remaining Sevii Islands. Celio will let the player keep the Rainbow Pass afterwards.

In the Pokémon Adventures manga

At the beginning of the FireRed & LeafGreen arc, Red and Blue each received a Tri-Pass left to them by Professor Oak, which they used to first board the Seagallop Ferry to the Sevii Islands. In My, My, My Mimic, they each obtained a Rainbow Pass sent to them by Bill, using them to board the Seagallop Ferry to Four Island.

Due to having already traveled to the Sevii Islands in order to catch Moltres on Mt. Ember, Green had obtained her Tri-Pass and Rainbow Pass before the beginning of the chapter.
