The fifth Pokémon Ga-Olé set was released on April 27, 2017. It features 38 standard disks and 2 secret disks.
Information
The fifth set continues the guardian deity theme established in the previous set, featuring a series of courses on which the Legendary Land Spirit Pokémon Tapu Lele, Tapu Bulu, and Tapu Fini could be encountered. Tapu Lele could be encountered on one of the launch courses, with the others available on courses playable in late May and mid-June. All Grade 5 versions of these Pokémon had access to the Z-Move Guardian of Alola in addition to their signature move Nature's Madness.
The Legendary Sky High Pokémon Rayquaza was the focus of another serial launch course, appearing as a powerful Grade 5 Pokémon—the first to feature an Energy value in excess of 4000. The same Rayquaza, albeit with alternate art on the disk available, could be encountered on a second Rayquaza Course from the end of May. A Shiny Rayquaza could also be encountered on this course on rare occasions.
The focus on evolution also continues in the fifth set, with a number of Pokémon featuring Evolution stones on disk artwork. Similarly to Rockruff in the previous set, four analogous Eevee disks were available in this set, one of which could be upgraded with no evolution, the others into evolved forms Vaporeon, Jolteon, or Flareon depending on the Evolution stone depicted.
Five new Pokémon Trainers were available to battle in Trainer and Battle mode, including 3 new Trainer classes. Lurantis and Bewear were also added as Support Pokémon available to purchase in-game from this set.
