Seedot (Japanese: タネボー Taneboh) is a Grass-type Pokémon.
It evolves into Nuzleaf starting at level 14, which evolves into Shiftry when exposed to a Leaf Stone.
Biology
Seedot is a small, brown Pokémon that resembles an acorn. It has a gray "cap" covering the top of its head, and a beige mask-like pattern on its face. Its eyes are large and black with beige pupils. It has two beige feet. Seedot live in forests. It sucks up moisture and nutrients from a tree when hanging from a branch using the top of its head. The more it drinks, the glossier its body becomes. After it finishes eating it becomes so heavy that it drops to the ground. When it remains still, it can be mistaken for a nut. It will startle Pokémon by moving suddenly. It uses leaves to polish its body once a day.

Seedot also swarms in Sapphire after mixing records with Ruby. However that requires interaction with another game, and therefore it's still version-exclusive.

Trivia
- Together with Rattata, Magikarp, and Pichu, Seedot is the easiest Pokémon to catch in Pokémon Ranger, with only one loop necessary.
- Seedot can be seen as a parallel to Lotad. Both of them are Grass-type Generation III Pokémon and are part of a three-stage evolutionary line, who evolve into their evolved forms at or above level 14, and whose second evolutionary event utilizes an evolutionary stone. Seedot is exclusive to Pokémon Ruby, while Lotad is exclusive Pokémon Sapphire, with both Pokémon found in the same locations in their respective versions. Additionally, both Pokémon can be found in Pokémon Diamond, Pearl and Platinum by using the Dual-slot mode, with Seedot requiring Pokémon Ruby, and Lotad requiring Pokémon Sapphire. Both can also be found in White Forest in Pokémon White, and both have the same base stat total, with both having equal stats arranged differently (Seedot has greater physical stats, while Lotad has greater special stats).
Origin
Seedot is based on an acorn.
Name origin
Seedot may be a combination of seed and dot or tot (referring to its small size).
Taneboh is a combination of 種 tane (seed) and 赤ん坊 akanbō (baby) or 帽子 bōshi (hat).
