Seed Flare (Japanese: シードフレア Seed Flare) is a damage-dealing Grass-type move introduced in Generation IV. It is the signature move of Shaymin.
Effect
Seed Flare inflicts damage and has a 40% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense stat by two stages.

Shaymin absorbs any pollutants around it into its body from the seeds on its back, causing the flowers on its head to turn purple or black, depending on how much is absorbed. Then, Shaymin's body glows light green, the flower on its head glows pink, and it explodes, creating a huge light green explosion all around it. In the Reverse World, it causes a portal to the real world to form.

- Seed Flare, Night Daze, and Smog are the only moves with a 40% chance of a secondary effect happening.
- Seed Flare, along with Acid Spray, are the only damaging moves that have the secondary effect of lowering a certain stat by two stages.
- Interestingly, the affected stat in both cases is Special Defense.
