Seed Flare (Japanese: シードフレア Seed Flare) is a damage-dealing Grass-type move introduced in Generation IV. It is the signature move of Shaymin.

Effect

Seed Flare inflicts damage and has a 40% chance of lowering the target's Special Defense stat by two stages.

The user absorbs pollutants, then releases a shockwave that expels water and light.

User First Used In Notes
Shaymin Shaymin absorbs any pollutants around it into its body from the seeds on its back, causing the flowers on its head to turn purple or black, depending on how much is absorbed. Then, Shaymin's body glows light green, the flower on its head glows pink, and it explodes, creating a huge light green explosion all around it. In the Reverse World, it causes a portal to the real world to form.

Shaymin Shaymin absorbs any pollutants around it using the red flower petal on its neck. The color of the petal changes to purple or black depending on how much pollutant is absorbed. Then, Shaymin's body glows light green, the flower petal glows pink, and it explodes, creating a huge light green explosion all around its body. In the Reverse World, it causes a portal to the real world to form.

  • In Giratina and the Sky Warrior, Nurse Joy describes Seed Flare as a process in which Shaymin purifies polluted air it inhales in its body and then expels it in the form of light and water.
