Trivia
- He shares his name with Ash Ketchum from Pokémon anime. However, he is based on Red, not Ash, so his name actually comes from the optional names from game, not the anime hero's name. A similar situation applies to Shigeru, Satoshi's rival and Haruka from Pokémon Chamo-Chamo ☆ Pretty ♪.
- Unlike in the games (where winning is necessary to proceed), Satoshi suffers a complete loss against Shigeru in their second rematch after having all eight badges.
- As opposed to Ash's Pikachu in the anime, Satoshi's Pikachu in this version voluntarily used a Thunderstone on itself in preparation for the battle against the Elite 4.
