This card was one of the XY Black Star Promos available within the Mega Salamence-EX Premium Collection, released November 18, 2016. In Japan, this card was included in the September 2016 issue of CoroCoro Ichiban! released on July 21, 2016. The CoroCoro Ichiban! logo is featured in the bottom left corner of the card. A Non-Holofoil print, numbered 254/XY-P and lacking the CoroCoro Ichiban! logo, was available as part of a special 60-card deck included with copies of CoroCoro Ichiban! Pokémon Card Game XY BREAK Victory Guide, released on July 28, 2016.
