History
Ryū first appeared in the sandbox of his backyard of the house where he was talking to his friend, Masato. Ryū then ran to a building and challenged Kanto Nankai. Even though Ryū had to deal with a tough challenge since his opponent used the legendary birds, Ryū was able to defeat him in the end with his Chimchar's Ember.
