Roost (Japanese: はねやすめ Feather Rest) is a non-damaging Template:Type2 move introduced in Generation IV.

Effect

Roost restores half of the user's maximum HP. If the user is a Template:Type2, it will lose its Flying-type (thus being treated as a single-type Pokémon) until the next turn. If a non-Flying-type uses Roost, then there are no additional side-effects.

Generation V

If a single Flying-type Pokemon uses Roost, it'll become Normal-type.

Trivia

  • All Pokémon that can learn Roost (besides Mew and Smeargle) either are Flying-type or have some form of wings.
  • Arceus with a Sky Plate is the only pure Flying-type Pokémon, and it can't learn Roost. If Roost is hacked and used, Arceus becomes typeless and is not weak or resistant to any type.
