(Japanese: レンジ Renji) is a recurring character who appeared in the new series. He is one of Professor Sakuragi's assistants.
History
Renji debuted in SS002, where he was present during the opening of Sakuragi Institute. He later saw Professor Oak and Delia off as they returned to Pallet Town. Renji was formally introduced in SS003, where he apologized for being late due to a traffic jam caused by an outbreak of Ivysaur.

Françoise (Japanese:フランソワーズ Françoise) is Renji's only known Pokémon. It first appeared in SS011, where it helped Renji when the power was cut at Sakuragi Institute. After encountering a Gengar, Françoise alerted Professor Sakuragi and Kikuna to Renji's location.
